Traditional crafts originate from daily productions and living needs of ancient labor people.It carries a material and spiritual wealth created by a specific time and space environment,which you can see life art and culture that is unique to an era.The ancestral traditions that have been passed on to this day are not only the crystallization of our ancestors’wisdom,but also the representation and symbolization of our country and national traditional culture.In recent years,Chairman Xi has repeatedly mentioned cultural self-confidence and the role of Chinese culture as a soft power on various occasions.The society has begun to turn its attention to the traditional craftsmanship as the material and spiritual carrier of the traditional culture of the Chinese nation.At the national level,relevant arrangements have been made for the protection and revitalization of traditional craftsmanship.Experts and scholars have conducted in-depth discussions on the value behind traditional craftsmanship and the ways to protect and revitalize it.This paper attempts to sort out the relevant concepts and connotations of traditional crafts,starting from the value of traditional crafts and further analyzing its role in modern life,supplemented by some of the difficulties encountered in its inheritance and development,and to explain the necessity of traditional crafts entering modern life.Starting from the perspectives of the state,society,inheritors,and craft products,we will explore the path of traditional crafts into modern life.The traditional craft itself has four major values:artistic,aesthetic and practical value,historical and cultural value,scientific and technological value,and social economic value.It also promotes modern life in five aspects:economy,lifestyle,ecological civilization construction,enhancing cultural self-confidence,and cultivating craftsmanship.Therefore,fully tapping on the ontological value of traditional crafts and its role in modern life,and promoting traditional crafts into modern life helps to promote employment,achieve accurate poverty alleviation,improve people’s livelihood economy,restore and rebuild a green,healthy and elegant lifestyle,reconstruct a sustainable cultural ecosystem,and promote harmonious development of people and nature.In addition,traditional crafts also contribute to the inheritance and development of the traditional culture of the Chinese nation and the improvement of the confidence of the Chinese culture.Furthermore,traditional crafts stimulate inspirations and the potential of excellence,contribute to the spirit of craftsmanship and the culture of artisans,advocate the professional values of dedication,persistence,excellence and innovation.Thereby,promoting the development of China’s manufacturing industry,cultivating domestic independent innovation brands,and achieving China’s goal of manufacturing a strong country and creating a strong country.At the same time,the inheritance of traditional crafts has encountered difficulties such as lack of inheritors and competitiveness of products,and shortage of raw materials.Therefore,the author believes that traditional crafts have the necessity to enter modern life.So how should traditional crafts blend into modern life?The guidance of the state,the creation of a social atmosphere,the management of the inheritors and their own efforts,and the effective integration of traditional craft products into modern society constitute the necessary ways for traditional crafts to enter modern life.First,the government needs to effectively demonstrate its policy leading ability through specific practices such as policy support and protection of traditional productions in order to introduce traditional craftsmanship into modern life and production.Second,the social level can promote traditional crafts through social universal education,various experiential learning activities,and especially the role of schools and experts.Then,the focus of traditional craftsmanship into modern life is to have a group of outstanding inheritors.On the one hand,the outside world must satisfy the material and spiritual needs of the inheritors.On the other hand,the inheritors need to actively enter modern life in order to assimilate the craft into modern life.Finally,in the design of crafts products,traditional processes must not only be combined with innovative ideas,but also with the current aesthetics;in terms of product positioning,it is not only divided into different levels,but also needs to be oriented to the needs of the public for different groups of people;in terms of product brand,we must not only cultivate independent manual brands,but also support and revitalize old brands.Overall,through the efforts of the state,society,inheritors and other aspects,the traditional crafts can integrate into modern life.
