As a Korean student studying Chinese for several years,I have developed a strong interest in the comparison between Chinese and Korean, especially in the comparison of Chinese and Korean color words.I think that Chinese and Korean color words have rich symbolic meanings. They are similar, but different.Korean students often make mistakes when using them. The purpose of this study is to compare the similarities and differences between the symbolic meanings of Chinese and Korean color words, and to design an effective teaching program for Koreans on how to learn Chinese color words based on the differences between the two countries. In the first chapter, the purpose and significance of this paper are put forward, and the content and methods of research are determined. The relevant readings and literature are sorted out,and the color words are defined and classified.Chapter two is centered around the five colors of Chinese and Korean color words, which are “white, black, red, yellow and blue”.In this chapter, they make a comparative study from the basic meaning to the symbolic meaning of those colors. In chapter three, they take Koreans studying Chinese, designs a teaching plan according to the order of“introduction-explanation-practice-consolidation and assignment of homework”,and designs the ladder-like teaching plan based on the selected readings, essays, novels, excerpts and news.I feel that this teaching method will be a useful tool for teaching Korean color words.Korean Students studying Chinese will understand the similarities and differences between the two countries, and communicate with the Chinese people efficiently. They will better understand native Chinese speaker's original and deep meaning and communicate more smoothly.
