| English writing has always been considered as an effective activity of language output,while reading is considered as language input activity.On the basis of the researching on the relationship between reading and writing,many scholars put forward “Reading-to-Write”teaching approach.In the view of the basic problems in the Chinese English teaching,this study applies “reading-to-write” approach to the senior high school’s English writing teaching,and it is dedicated to exploring how to improve the complexity,accuracy and fluency of the students’ English writing through the target reading activities.The three research questions of this study are as follows:(1)How does the "reading-to-write" approach affect the development of students’ language complexity in English writing?(2)How does the "Reading-to-write" approach affect the development of students’ language accuracy in English writing?(3)How does the "Read-to-Write" approach affect the development of students’ fluency in English writing?In the process of the experiment,a pretest is held between the two classes’ students.What’s more,an interview is conducted before the pretest,and the six interviewed students are chosen form the experimental class.Secondly,the “reading-to-write” teaching model is used in the experimental class,while in the controlled class the traditional teaching methodology is applied.Thirdly,a post test is held at the end of the experiment.In addition,the students who have done the interview before the experiment are interviewed again.Through the experiment,the following important conclusions are drawn:First,the “reading-to-write” model can significantly improve the quality of students’ writing composition,especially in the accuracy and complexity aspects.Second,the effectiveness of the “reading-to-write” model on the fluency of the students’ language using is quite same with the traditional teaching method.Third,“reading-to-write” model can improve and cultivate students’ interests and ambitious towards English writing.This research brought some enlightenment for the teachers and students as well.From the perspective of teachers,teachers should have the consciousness of the combining the training of the students’ writing skill with reading skill together.From the perspective of the students,they should pay their attention to the accumulation of the useful expressions which can be used in their own writing.It is expected that this study can provided some meaningful references for teachers and provide meaningful inspirations for the further researches on“reading-to-write” model. |
