Understanding Of Spiritual Expression In Thematic Portrait Sculpture Creation

At present,in the thematic portrait sculpture in China,there are many stylized and stereotyped creation models,which neglect the expression and exploration of the spirit of sculpture.Sculptors urgently need to pay attention to the expression of the spirit of sculpture,more humanistic care and spiritual connotation to the sculpture works.This paper attempts to analyze the significance and forms of expression in the spiritual expression of sculpture in combination with the cases of thematic portrait sculpture creation at home and abroad.The author discusses the importance of the spiritual expression in thematic portrait sculpture from three aspects: the spirit existing in the main body of creation,the spirit in artistic works,and the spirit transmission and re-creation in the process of artistic acceptance.Through the use of form and space,the creation of the spiritual environment,and the exploration of material and form in the creation of thematic portrait sculpture,this paper expounds the manifestation of spiritual expression.At the same time,the author also combined with personal sculpture creation practice to analyze the expression of spirituality in the work.Through the thinking and organizing of this paper,the author intends to indicate the direction for the spiritual expression in the creation of thematic portrait sculpture,and provide a feasible methodology for the creation.
