Greek mythology originated from ancient Greece and became the basis of Western European civilization through the transformation of ancient Roman civilization,resulting in a series of well-known classical literary works.Modern Chinese writers are keenly aware of the advancement of this culture,so they introduce it into China.Instead of simply imitating Greek mythological themes,writers have created Greek mythological rewriting novels with Chinese characteristics on the basis of translation and understanding,combining with the characteristics of Chinese traditional culture.As a special type of writing in modern literature,these Greek mythological rewriting novels have their own value of the times and research significance as well as their aesthetic tendencies and writing intentions in their works and writers’ creation.This paper is divided into five parts.The introduction briefly describes the background of the introduction of Greek mythology into China,puts forward the importance of the study of modern Greek mythological rewriting fiction in China,and expounds the current research situation and research direction of Greek mythological rewriting fiction by modern Chinese writers.The first chapter mainly summarizes the characteristics of Greek mythological rewriting novel creation by dividing each stage of the writer’s creation.The author will draw lessons from the previous text and rewriting novel for a simple summary and comparison,analysis of rewriting novel and the difference between the former text.The second chapter mainly studies the intertextual relationship between the Greek mythological rewriting novel and the original text.Through the specificresearch on the theme content and narrative techniques,we can find the reference and innovation of the original text in the rewriting novel.Chapter three explores the reasons for the writer’s rewriting of Greek mythological novels.Through three aspects of realistic metaphor,ideological enlightenment and self-expression,this paper analyses the writing value of writers and rewrites.The concluding part summarizes the value of Greek mythology rewriting by Chinese modern writers.
