"Fine And Simple,Pure And Cold"—Study On The Painting And Artistic Conception Of Hongren Landscape Painting

Hongren lived in a special historical period of the late Ming and early Qing dynasties.The political changes,the replacement of dynasties and the chaotic social environment made his life rich and colorful,and his experience which was different from ordinary people also laid a solid foundation for Hongren's unique artistic style.Besides,his artistic style was completely different from that of the "four kings",which was considered orthodox at that time,as well as the rest the “Four Monk”.It broke the ethos of imitating the tradition blindly,created a new style of painting and brought vitality to the painting field in the early Qing Dynasty,led the Xin'an painting school,thus making a profound influence to the future generations.Hongren's landscape paintings reflect the unremitting pursuit of art,show the transformation of the aesthetic taste of landscape paintings,and also reflect the spirit of the times.Therefore his outstanding artistic achievements and unique artistic styles are worth to research,to explore,inherit and innovate.Art is a vivid and intuitive presentation of the characteristics of an era and society at another level.Calligraphy and painting,as a form of art,can embody the spirit of a certain era,and the basic of landscape painting is the use of brush and ink and the creation of artistic conception.Pen and ink generally refer to the use of ink in Chinese painting.It is not only an important means of Chinese painting,but also a carrier for the artist to write in front of the scene and expresses his minds.If pen and ink are the foundation of landscape painting,the bones and flesh of landscape painting,the artistic conception is the soul of landscape painting to express the inner spirit and emotion of the painter.To looks vivid in flavour and tone,it is not feasible to draw the body.As Guoxi said in Lin Quan Gao Zhi,“feasible,visitable,playable and livable”,This kind of work can be called a wonderful product.This paper studies the painting art of Hongren from the perspective of the most basic forms of landscape painting,and focuses on the characteristics of the ink and artistic conception of Hongren's landscape paintings,reveals the inheritance and innovation of Hongren's skills and artistic and poetic constructing and explores the influences and enlightenment of Hongren's works on later generations.Through research and study ofHongren's brushwork and artistic conception,the author finds some useful guidance for the graduation creation and the subsequent painting road.
