Research On Wei Yingqi And Fujian Local Culture

Wei yingqi(1902-1978),styled ruifu,was born in fuzhou,fujian province,and is a modern historian.The main part of this paper focuses on wei’s local cultural achievements in fujian.The first chapter,"wei yingqi’s life and study",summarizes wei’s life story and academic path.Wei yingqi’s scholarship mainly consists of two parts: the history of Chinese history and folklore.The former’s achievements include writing The History of Chinese Historiography,which promoted the early development of the the discipline of Chinese historiography.The latter focuses on the study of local culture in fujian,which is his lifelong academic interest.The second chapter focuses on wei yingqi’s academic achievements in local culture.Westergren in the research of this field,mainly for three aspects: one is the ballad of collecting,sorting and research of fuzhou area,due to directly influence the folk sports in the 1920 s,the study of ballads and westergren of fuzhou area,and is committed to fuzhou songs collection,greatly promoted the development of popular culture in the fujian province;The second is about the local history of fujian and the study of Shinto.When compiling the history of fujian in the five dynasties,wei paid attention to the local belief of linshui lady,guo shengwang and tian tian,and wrote a research on the three gods of fujian,which analyzed the three gods of fujian from the horizontal and vertical aspects,and revealed the Shinto belief and its evolution.The third is the study on the biographies of historical figures in fujian,such as compiling the biographies of Lin zexu and Chen jiageng.The third chapter,national culture and local identity,aims to explore the rise of local culture research in the early republic of China.At the beginning of the 20 th century,Chinese folklore was initiated and started,and the culture of local people was closely related to the trend of The Times.The emerging knowledge groups promotednationalism by virtue of folk custom research,enhanced the sense of identity and self-confidence of the citizens,and then remolded Chinese culture.The study of folklore is closely related to the movement of new historiography and becomes an important factor in the construction of folk history.After establishing his research orientation,wei yingqi has been making progress in the research of folklore and history,especially in the local culture of fujian.Through wei’s academic path and thought,we can find the cultural reconstruction and the construction of people’s history behind the hot phenomenon of local culture research in the republic of China,which is helpful to strengthen our cognition of the academic thought of the republic of China and has certain reference significance for the current local culture research.
