Mind mapping is a network structure and diagammatization proposed by Tony Buzan in the 1970 s,which is used as a graphical tool to store,organize,optimize and output information.It is widely used in the field of education because of its superiority,and one of the manifestations is the combination of mind mapping and English reading teaching.Reading is one of the important ways to get information,and it is also an important part of English teaching.English reading teaching is relatively mature,but there are still problems,such as the blackboard-writing in the English reading class is inefficient.Therefore,this study introduces the use of mind mapping in blackboard-writing in reading class.The mind mapping blackboard design is a kind of non-linear blackboard-writing under the guidance of the mind mapping.Based on the Information Processing Theory of Learning,this study attempts to explore the feasibility of mind mapping blackboard design,aiming at improving students' reading level and enhancing their interest in English reading.In this study,101 students were selected as subjects for a five-month experiment,who are from the first year of Yan'an Senior High School in Shnaanxi Povince.It is from September 1st in 2018 to January 20 th in 2019.The experiment was prepared in the first month,during which the pre-test of the examination paper was carried out to get the students' scores and its suitablity for the research.The results shows that the average score of the two classes is 23.92 and 24.64.According to SPSS 20.0,it shows that there is no significant difference between the two classes.Besides,the questionnaire about reading interest was distributed to know the students' initial reading interest,which also shows that there is no significant difference in English reading interest between the two classes.Therefore,the two classes can be used as the experimental class and control class respectively.From October in 2018 to January in 2019,the experimental was implemented in which mind mapping blackboard design was used as a teaching aid in the experimental class when teaching reading,while the control class remained the original teaching form.In terms of the evaluation,the post-test of the examination paper was measured first,showing that the average score of experimental class increased from 24.64 to 26.12,and from 23.92 to 24.72 in the control class.According to SPSS 20.0,there is significant difference in the post-test results between the two classes,which indicates that the mind mapping blackboard design is conducive to improving students' reading level.The comparison between the data of the questionaires indicate that the use of the mind mapping blackboard designg is beneficial to stimulate students' reading interest.Secondly,another questionnaire about the use of mind mapping blackboard design is conducted.The survey results shows that quite a number of students have a positive attitude towards mind mapping blackboard design.In order to know more about the view of students on the mind mapping blackboard design,six students in the experimental class were randomly selected to be interviewed,and the results further confirmed the conlusion.The experiment results show that the use of mind mapping blackboard design in English reading class of senior high school is effective,which means it is conducive to improving students' reading level and stimulating their reading interest with the help of mind map blackboard design.
