Teaching material,as the basis of teaching and learning,constitutes the organic part of teaching content with teaching program and syllabus.In the four major parts of teaching activities,the teaching material plays an important role,especially in the second language teaching,and good teaching materials are the foundation of second language learning.The level of teaching material not only reflects the depth and width of the study on teaching theory and teaching method,but also determines the effect of the teaching and learning to a great extent.Therefore,the research on teaching material has always played an important role in the field of Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language.As a neighbor of China,South Korea’s exchange with China is increasingly frequent in recent years.Being a carrier of Chinese culture,Chinese has been widely spread in South Korea.The demand for teaching materials increases with the growth of learners of Chinese language,therefore,it is of great importance to select a Chinese teaching material which is suitable for the learners.However,the teaching materials at home and abroad are not universally used.Foreign learners may find that China’s teaching materials are not very interesting or practical,thereby causing poor promotion and development of China’s oral Chinese textbooks abroad.At the same time,due to the limit of nationality,the overseas excellent oral Chinese textbooks cannot be introduced to our country,either.Therefore,the comparison of the two kinds of teaching materials has significant implication for the compilation of China’s Chinese teaching materials.With the Delicious Chinese published by South Korean and Intermediate Chinese Spoken Language written by Chinese teachers as the research objects,this thesis analyzes the differences between the intermediate oral Chinese textbooks published by China and South Korea.Based on the function of teaching of Chinese as a foreign language,this thesis puts forward some strategies for the compilation of oral Chinese textbooks according to the characteristics of Chinese language learners in different countries.This thesis first elaborates the research background and significance,and summarizes the existing principles and situation of the teaching material research.Then this thesis analyzes the teaching material structures,topics,language elements and cultural elements with a comparative study and dataanalysis,and then studies the reasons for differences in the teaching material compilations of two countries based on the analysis results and cultural backgrounds of the two textbooks.The thesis found that it is the difference of textbook complication,teaching idea,acquisition ground and cultural concept causes the difference of two textbooks.Lastly,problems of the two teaching materials were considered,and this thesis puts forward relevant suggestions on the compilation of textbook for teaching Chinese as a second language,such as enhance the pertinence and interestingness,optimize the level and highlight the focus,and practice comprehensively.
