| Vocabulary is the basic unit of language,and it is the basic factor of language acquisition in listening,speaking,reading and writing.The Compulsory Education New Curriculum Standards(2011)demands that the students who graduate from Junior High School should reach Level 5,which means 1500-1600 words should be mastered before graduating from Junior High School.So the vocabulary teaching plays an important role in English vocabulary teaching.But it is time consuming and inefficiency when teaching the vocabulary with the traditional teaching method.The students’ learning initiative and learning motivation is not very high.Under the premise of conforming to the new curriculum standards,we should explore the teaching mode which would fit the students’ body and mind development to improve the teaching situation.With the development of times and technology,the corpus technology begin to appear in education area.The corpus has a large number of authentic language materials.The teachers can use the authentic materials in the class to optimize the classroom resources.Meanwhile,with the help of the authentic resources,the students are ableto enlarge the quantity of their vocabulary by the real context.So this study will do some research on the corpus-based vocabulary teaching in Junior High School.This study is based on the constructivism theory,humanistic learning theory,discovery learning theory and monitor theory,aiming at studying the following research questions: Can the corpus-based vocabulary teaching method arouse Junior High School students’ vocabulary learning interest and cultivate their vocabulary learning strategies? Compared with the traditional teaching method,can the corpus-based vocabulary teaching method significantly improve the students’ vocabulary learning effects?During the research process,questionnaires and test method are applied.The experimental data was analyzed by SPSS 25.The research result shows: the students are interested in corpus-based vocabulary teaching and they are more active than before,the corpus-based vocabulary teaching method can improve the students’ learning strategies,such as autonomous cooperation,conclusion and hypothesis;corpus-based vocabulary teaching method can significantly improve the students’ vocabulary learning effects.On the basis of the research results,the writer gave some suggestions in order to perfect the Junior High School vocabulary teaching methods and enhance the vocabulary teaching effects. |
