The Study Of "Material" And Chinese Contemporary Art

The materialization phenomenon in China’ s contemporary art shows the abundant achievements achieved by artists who use ready makes,material objects and material medium for their artistic creation.Under a tumultuous artistic atmosphere,the rapid development of "materialization" excludes the art forms evolved out of traditions.In a time when interaction occurs everywhere,art should be treated with a totally different strategy.With the die-out of totality,the obsession with value makes aesthetic judgment no longer applicable.The irreality shown by art works as objects overwhelms rational recognition.The foundation of the judgment theory now is being questioned and the impact of material existence surpasses the confusion caused by the sense of forms,guiding us to explore the very origin of ourselves.Art works as "objects" through the forms of material presentation employed in the process of artistic creation enables the material phenomenon to appear in people’ s lives,transcend time and space and finally evolve into a set of theory,thus transforming the creative ideas of artists.Looking around the world,materialization develops rapidly and some artistic characteristics and techniques including deconstruction,allegory,appropriation and simulation come up successively.From the ubiquitous materialization,the bud of forms and techniques of lay-out can be realized.This paper centers around the description of the materialization phenomenon in China’ s contemporary art and analyzes the different creation characteristics of artists through the different forms of material presentation.Based on the collection and study of materials about China’s contemporary in the past thirty years and theoretical analysis and case study,this paper,through comparative analysis,clearly shows the emergence,development and transfer of materialization in China’s contemporary art.This paper is divided into five parts.Part Ⅰ contains the literature review of domestic and foreign studies on this subject,its theoretical significance and practical effect,and introduces the research thinking and approach and originality of this study.Part Ⅱ analyses the concrete forms of materialization and the trail and background of its emergence.Part Ⅲ describes the direct presentation of materialization in China’s contemporary art.Part IV discusses sinicization tendency of materialization in China’s contemporary artistic creation.analyses the influence of the materialization phenomenon in China’ s contemporary art on the broader sense of China’ s contemporary art.Part V analyses the influence of the materialization phenomenon in China’s contemporary art on the broader sense of China’s contemporary art.
