From Aphasia,Escape,to Recall And Reconstruction

As one of the most rebellious and pioneering writers in present Austria,Peter Handke have been exploring the relationship between the world and the human beings,the location of a person in the space and self expression.Since his early pioneering drama in 60’s,Handke was gradually focusing on the individual self-depiction and writing from criticism of the language law.Now we choose four new objectivity novels(The Goalie’s Anxiety at the Penalty Kick,Short Letter,Long Farewell,The Long Way Round,Repetition)written by Handke in 70’s as the research objects,and analyze and discuss the characteristics and connotation of subjectivity exploration in Handke’s writing.In his novels,Handke first summarized the characteristics and experience in his previous drama creation,revealed the growing language crisis and people’s alienation in modern society,and the active language struggle of the hero,Bloch,to get free,though finally what he gave was an ambiguous and pessimistic ending.Second,Handke put forward a topic of "escape" in the novel,and divided it into"escape on the level of geography and space" and "escape on the level of language and consciousness".A person should escape from the old world and the fusty law in order to achieve self independence and cognition.In the meantime,Handke pointed out the repeatability and retracement that still exist in the process of "escape",and also illuminated the way just as a temporary premise,not the final solution.In Repetition,facing the lack of homeland foundation and personal memory,Handke placed the hero Philip in a non-directional and continuously rambling position with the myriad possibilities.In reading and traveling,the cognitive and practical two levels,Philip is constantly refactoring himself,breaks through the shackles of language and recalls the loss memory,and finally arrives at the root of language and culture during the journey to home Slovenia.So far,it means the completion of the exploration of Handke’s new subjectivity novel.It is obvious that the reflection and the seek of the human nature and confusion of relationship between the human beings and the world in Peter Handke’s books are deep,abundant and hierarchical.His new objectivity novels place at three different levels "Found-Escape-return",constantly look for the meaning of the connection of the self and the world,and find the explanation and salvation for the modernistic myth.
