Music In The Image—Research On Music Life Of The Southern Song Dynasty In The Image

Historical image materials have always been one of the indispensable witnesses of music historiography with the historical literature materials and historical cultural heritage materials.It is an important topic of ancient music history research to make independent and systematic illustration of the ancient music image.Compared with the historical literature materials,historical image materials are more explicit and symbolic,which could provide vivid description of the character and set and more specific and real expression of music life.Through the vivid music image of the Southern Song Dynasty,we are able to get much closer to the characters and sets in the history and insightful exploration of the meaning of musical elements of the image.The paper consists of three parts.The first part is the detailed description of music life in the image and interpretation of the different music signs in literati images and children images and the implications of these music signs based on the two kinds of different image materials of the Southern Song Dynasty.The second part is concentrated on the case interpretation of the music image.Integrating the various research methods,the paper deeply explores the symbolic meaning of kinds of elements in the image and the function meaning of the image text itself.The third part analyzes and summarizes the method problems of research on music life history of the Southern Song Dynasty on the basis of the former content and combining the various possibilities of ancient music image research in the present perspective of diversification.The paper regards the music image of the Southern Song Dynasty as the research object.With the viewpoint of iconography and the theoretical methods of sociology and semiology,the paper mainly explores the music life,culture,human relationships of the music image of the Southern Song Dynasty and the symbolic meaning of the image.What’s more,the paper has made some new attempts to interpret the Chinese ancient music image while collecting and organizing the image materials.
