Tang Xianzu had lived through the reign of Jiajing,Longqing and Wanli of Ming dynasty.He was a literary icon of the late Ming dynasty.As the poetic research is gradually warming recently,it’s still recieves little attention compared with his theatre.Researchers tend to discuss the "Sentimentalist" of the theare theory and his poetry theory together,thus the theory of this two different literary style may have no unsimilarity anymore.But the fact is that there is the effect of "poetic education" which has been neglected except the influence of the "sentimentalist".This paper deeply discussed Tang xianzu’s poetic theory,analyze the connotation of it,and sort out the logic of his thoughts.Under the influence of the Retroism and Sentimentalist,figure out the strategies Tang Xianzu had take to reconcile it.Establish his poetic theory status in the Ming dynasty.The first chapter mainly studies the point of "emulating and recreating" of Tang Xianzu’s poetic theory.Tang Xianzu insisted on self-consciousness when the duration is covered by the restorism,and formed a unique way of poetry creation,that is studing and emulating the poems of "Six Dynasties" Tang Xianzu was not satisfied with this,he turned his own view later,started to learn the poetry creation of BaiJuyi and SuShi,broke through the former idea of it.Tang Xianzu’s path of emulation’s contains the content and form of poetry.So in the third section of this chapter,I demonstrates his ideas of his connection between content and form.The second chapter studies the theory of "article’s vigour" of Tang Xianzu.Tang Xianzu’s "Qi" theory,impart it from the metaphysical philosophy to the "articale’s vigour".Therefore,this chapter first studies its "Qi" theory,and proves its "Qi" is the key to the communication of the celestial body and the atmosphere of the sky.The theory of"articles’s vigour" of Tang Xianzu is as the same logical.He think that the spirit of human can motivate the understanding of the world’s "Qi",So that human can observe the world better.Therefore,It is essential for people to nourish spirit relating to literary creation.The second section of this chapter focuses on Tang Xianzu’s theory of "nourishing spirit",which inherits the Taoist "sanitarium" and integrates Confucianism "nurture" into it,which is an innovation.The third chapter is the core of the paper.This chapter analzes and discuss Tang Xianzu’s "Sentimentalist" from the three angles,including Tang Xianzu emotion theory connotated of "Real",and the relationship between "Emotion and Ambition",finally discusses that Tang Xianzu has enriched the Sentimentalist of literature in Ming dynasty.Discussing the relationship of emotion and ambition,this paper not only noticed the Tang Xianzu preaching for "Real Emotion" of his poetics,but also focus more on the expression of ideal ambition,compared with personal affair,it’s more standard,embody the aesthetic tendency of emotion.This kind of "Emotion" return to the "Ambition’s" category.In the end,this paper puts his "emotion" theory into the trend of the literary Sentimentalist of the Ming dynasty,and intends to highlight the historical status and value of his "Emotion"theory.The fourth chapter focuses on the contradictions found in the study of Tang Xianzu’s poetic theory.This kind of contradiction come from the conflict between his position of scholar-official and the position of literatus-unofficial in the late feudal period of Ming dynasty.In this chapter,the paper points out his three contradictions.First contradiction is that he pursuit the emotional-initiated poems,but his creation is mostly for social intercourse.Second,he pursuit the poetic aesthetics,but his tendency of creation is narrating factually and unimaginatively.Last but not the least,he pursuit the romantic narrative,but he can not get rid of the classical poetic forms and the tradition of ritual.The paper continue to discuss the two path that Tang Xianzu seeks.On the one hand,as the literati identity he pursue emotional expression,and has tried the new literature style,theatre,contributed to the thought of "literary variation" of Tang Xianzu.On the other hand,as a scholar-official,he still maintains traditional forms of the classical poetic.
