| The arrival of the information age has brought great changes to the education,and the multimedia as a teaching assisted method has been widely used in the teaching Chinese to speakers of other languages.Based on the theory of second language acquisition theory,educational technology theory,audiovisual theory,and the related literature review on multimedia assisted instruction in the teaching Chinese to speakers of other languages,this paper study on “multimedia assisted instruction of elementary Chinese comprehensive course for Thai students” from the author’s own teaching practice.In this paper,the author analyzes in detail of the elementary Chinese comprehensive course for Thai students how multimedia application and application effect.The author puts forward the countermeasure and makes some reflections on the correlative question,hoping to provide reference for teachers engaged in the teaching Chinese to speakers of other languages when using multimedia assisted instruction.Through the methods of literature research,observation,questionnaire and interview methods,this paper draws conclusions from two aspects for multimedia assisted instruction of elementary Chinese comprehensive course for Thai students.These conclusions are drawn from the multimedia design and application in the classroom teaching: 1.The use of audio,PPT,etc.in teaching phonetics helps to strengthen the weak part of Thai students;the use of dynamic Chinese character stroke order demonstration software,Flash animation,etc.in teaching Chinese characters helps to strengthen the weak part of Thai students.2.It is helpful for students to understand abstract vocabulary and grammar presented by multimedia in pictures and Flash animation,etc.3.The introduction and summary of new lessons need to use of multimedia specially,which can save a lot of class time.4.The teacher’s choice and production of pictures,Flash animations and GIF animations should be intuitive and clear.5.When teachers use traditional teaching methods in combination with teaching,mixed use of multiple media forms makes teaching better.These conclusions are drawn from the feedback and survey of Thai students: 1.Thai students strongly approve of multimedia assisted instruction and believe that multimedia helps them to learn Chinese.2.The use of multimedia assisted instruction can activate classroom atmosphere,improve the learning interest and learning efficiency of Thai students,the students can intuitively contact learning content,it meets the learning style of Thai students.3.When Thai students feel tired in class,it can ease their fatigue by playing their familiar songs and programs with multimedia.4.Teachers should not use multimedia throughout the class.There must be trade off between content display.5.Teachers must be fully prepared to use multimedia assisted instruction so that the classroom can still be interesting when multimedia cannot work. |
