| With the advances of science and technology,artificial intelligence gradually gains important positions in people’s everyday living activities.In the field of translation,artificial intelligence and computer technology greatly facilitated the development of machine translation.However,it also raises questions such as what are the core principles of machine translation system and how human translation will develop under this background in the future.As a report on Chinese to English consecutive interpreting(C-E CI),this thesis describes one CI task conducted by both the author and an app called “Lingo Cloud” for an orientation for a foreign intern at Panda Culture Company.Based on an actual interpreting task,this report analyzes the preparation part and summarizes the advantages,as well as problems resulting from the interpretation outcomes.This analysis is grounded on the perspective of context-dependent interpretation.Through the task description and analysis,it is discovered that both the quantity and quality of interpretation service have large room for improvement.Accordingly,this call for improvement will make the work even harder and more challenging for human interpreters due to the workload.Meanwhile,how to maintain the quality of machine translation remains to be a big concern for professionals in the field of translation.On the other hand,the employers in translation service seek to reduce the cost of human work and time,which creates the challenges for human interpreters hence the necessity of viewing human interpretation and machine interpretation comprehensively and objectively.It is provident for human interpreters to improve professional skills in certain fields based on their own advantages. |
