Although the 3D printing technology is relatively new,if it is combined with new energy and Internet,it can be regarded as the new technology that can lead the third industrial revolution, which will bring a new round of big changes. Therefore,as a sculptor,it is necessary for me to cerebrate the relationship between sculpture and the 3D printing technology, and take it as a subject to research. With the development of the Internet, traditional storage methods for information, including words, images, sounds and so on,can spread as fast and wide as a single spark,so does the sculpture industry. So,we need to keep pace with the Times and actively accept and apply new technologies in the creation of sculpture art.On the basis of many years of sculpture creation and application of different materials, the author absorbs the advantages of traditional techniques and conducts to do lots of experiments on the traditional techniques to make them more suitable for the creation of 3D printing sculptures.I’m trying to use 3D printing technology to solve the problem which the traditional sculpture duplication mold technology is using.Firstly, this paper expounds the basic concept of 3D printing.Secondly, the workingmechanism of 3D printing sculpture and the application of 3D scanner in the field of sculpture are briefly described.Thirdly,it discusses the application of 3D printing sculpture in practice, analyzes the development of 3D printing sculpture at home and abroad and the promotion of 3D printing technology to traditional sculpture art. With the help of work cases,it summarizes and analyzes the difficulties and problems that 3D printing technology may encounter in actual operation, and urges sculpture to return to the core of art.
