The genie was born in people’s imagination,carrying various ideas and regulations in different historical periods.The image of fox demonization began in the Wei and Jin dynasties,until now,the strong impression belonging to the derivative meaning of the fox spirit makes it more typical compared with other genie types.As the character of the classic novel text,Su Da-ji,in addition to the classical character given by the text,also fits in with the cultural connotation of the fox’s initial demonization.From the Ming Dynasty to the present,it has a broad audience foundation and also has a broad audience foundation.This article will base on a series of film and television works which take Daji as the main role,excavate its appearance image,plot deduction,role shaping and so on,and probe into the cultural implication behind the symbol.So as to provide a relatively systematic change course for the fox spirit film and television image,and sort out the change of the times background.Roland Barthes’s semiotics theory will be cited here.The meaning of the symbol is not only the reference system composed of the apparent signifier and the signifier,the first level of meaning will be taken as a whole as a signifier,and the meaning of the first level will be given a deeper meaning.The deep meaning is often related to ideology.The film and television image of Daji is regarded as a symbol.Through multi-level analysis,the social ideology behind the symbol can be involved in this way.The analysis of the method can make the meaning of the symbol more clear.Daji from the 1950s,from the absence of monster identity to the demise of the country,to the deeply popular charming concubines and powerful outsiders,this series of changes and production,consumption and mainstream ideology can not be separated.In addition,many changes have taken place in the fox from the symbol of auspicious to the characteristic of obscene,and then to the pluralistic image now.Behind the change is the change of social and cultural background,which leads to the change of the concept of genie formation.After decades of deductive innovation,fox spirit Daji has brought a lot of vitality to the image,but also produced some deficiencies,the classical characteristics are dispelled,the elements of film and television aesthetics are unbalanced and so on.Genie as a biography of china Unified culture,with its own great charm,will be deeply excavated,re-innovated,developed into a very national characteristics of the cultural series,create a charming film and television works,can inject new vitality into the creation of film and television in our country.
