An Educational Survey Of Modern Chinese Drama With National Drama As Its Core

National Drama College,which is formerly known as the National Drama School,is the first state-run high drama school in China jointly funded by the Propaganda Department of the Kuomintang Central Committee and the Ministry of Education.The school hired Yu Shangyuan as the principal to "study drama art,cultivate drama and practical talents,and assist social education" as the mission of running a school.It is the cradle of modern Chinese drama education.Prior to this,the drama ancestors founded a number of drama and drama education institutions.Their exploration and attempt on the mode of drama education provided conditions for the birth of the national drama.This article through a detailed study of the national drama,in order to have a more in-depth perspective on Chinese modern drama education.First of all,based on the integration of historical materials and literature,this paper clarifies the status of the national drama in the history of modern Chinese drama education.Secondly,after reviewing the drama education thoughts of Yu Shangyuan and the history of the national drama series,this paper explores the value and significance of the educational policy,talent training mode,teaching characteristics,teacher team building,talent flow and performance practice of the national drama school.It further clarified the role of the National Drama in the construction of modern Chinese drama education.With the point and face,the drama education of the National Drama reflects the characteristics and style of the drama education in the whole era of China.Therefore,in the end,this paper summarizes the school-running concept of “specialization,precision,speciality and excellence” in the drama education at that time,excavating the reality of discipline construction in drama education,and rethinking the degrading situation in the construction of today's drama discipline.Furthermore,it puts forward the "specialized and refined" spirit that colleges and universities need urgently in the concept of training talents.In the method of talent cultivation,we should pay more attention to the combination of theory and practice,and the more active inheritance of the spirit of "nationa drama".
