The contemporary Mongolian people in Bortala Mongolian Autonomous Prefecture of Xinjiang mainly consist of the descendants of the Turhut tribe returning to the East and the Chahar tribe moving to the west.As we all know, the early religious belief of the Mongolian people was the primitive religion Shamanism, and then they believed in many different religions, and finally converted to Tibetan Buddhism. The religious belief of the Mongolian people had a great impact on the society, politics, economy, ideology and culture of the Mongolian people, and also brought about many changes. It is precisely because of the diversity of religious beliefs in Mongolian history that Mongolian culture is different from other nationalities and has its own national characteristics. In contemporary times, although many Tibetan Buddhist temples have been built and restored, the religious atmosphere of the Mongolian people in Xinjiang is relatively strong among the older generation, while that of the young people growing up in the new era is not strong, but it does not mean that religious beliefs are going to die out in this group. It is only that people in contemporary times are generally educated,so that the religious people are concerned about religion. The view is more rational, and the appeal for religion also tends to pray to the gods and Buddhas in religion for disaster relief and peace. The research of this subject mainly uses the methods of fieldwork and documentary research in religious sociology.Through the field investigation of the religious beliefs and cultural influence of the Mongolian people in Bortala Mongolian Autonomous Prefecture,Xinjiang, through interviews with the local Mongolian people and teaching staff,Xinjiang can be presented more comprehensively. The present situation and development track of Mongolian religious beliefs in Bortala Mongolian Autonomous Prefecture and the influence of religion on contemporary Mongolian culture and its reasons.
