Peter Handke(1942-)is regarded as the best contemporary Austrian playwright, and Nobel Prize winner Jelinek see him as a “living classic”.He is one of the focuses of attention in German and even in the world literary circles.Speech drama,as a unique form of drama by Henderk, has exerted great influence on the world theatre.Since the publication of the first speech drama“Cursing the Audience” in 1966,it has attracted wide attention in the theatre circle.These“anti-drama”and “anti-tradition”dramatic works take language as their only central theme, which provides more possibilities for the innovation of theatrical art forms. This paper attempts to explore the background of the emergence of drama from the perspectives of culture, philosophy and society in the 20 th century. It summarizes the concept of drama construction from three aspects: plot, situation and language. It also discriminates the antinomy characteristics of drama language in drama, and points out the understanding of drama language in drama to human body and the inheritance and transformation of the rebellion against western drama language.
