The Analysis Of Conceptual Metaphor About New Year's Greeting (1994-2019) Of Chinese Head Of State

Conceptual metaphor is the basic theory of Cognitive metaphor.It differs from traditional metaphor.Cognitive metaphor takes that metaphor is a cognitive way of the human race to recognize the objective world.It is formed in people's thought and expressed in language.Its working mechanism is a mapping from the source domain to the target domain,which is a mapping relationship from a conceptual domain of one thing to another similar conceptual domain.However,the traditional study of metaphor is to interpret the phenomenon of metaphor from the perspective of rhetoric and the semantic level.This paper is to analyze the conceptual metaphor system based on the theory of cognitive metaphor as well as the New Year Greetings(1994-2019)delivered by Chinese Head of State before New Year's Day..This paper sorts out the research results of cognitive metaphor at home and abroad,analyzes the working mechanism and the output mechanism of conceptual metaphor,and intends to establish the activation level of metaphorical features of conceptual domain.This paper takes the concept of conceptual metaphor as the field of vision,and applies the methods of comparison,statistics,enumeration,induction and description to do statistics on the corpus of Chinese New Year Greetings,and analyzes the application and rules of various conceptual metaphor theories in the text,which will be used to guide the study and interpretation of metaphor in political literature.The paper is divided into six parts.The first part is "Introduction",which mainly explains the purpose and significance of the research,and summarizes the relevant research results.It reviews the development process of metaphor research and introduces the research status at home and abroad,and lays a theoretical foundationfor the follow-up research and analysis.The foreign part mainly concentrate on the theories of different stages of metaphor research,including Aristotle's contrast theory,Quintilian's replacement theory,Richards' interaction theory,Black's interaction theory,Lakoff's & Johnson's mapping theory and so on.The research venation of foreign metaphors has been sorted out.The domestic part pays more attention to the use of metaphor in ancient times and the research in modern China.The second part is "the theoretical basis of metaphor".Based on the mapping theory of cognitive metaphor,it analyzes the working mechanism of conceptual metaphor and explores the activation conditions,activation levels and restraining factors of conceptual metaphor.The third part is to summarize the usage rules of conceptual metaphors from the political,economic and cultural aspects according to the statistical analysis,and to analyze the distribution.Through analysis,it can be seen that political metaphor is the most,followed by cultural metaphor,and economic metaphor is the least.From the perspective of categories,travels,architectures,and war metaphors are used more frequently,while others are relatively few.On the basis of analysis and generalization,this paper interprets the linguistic function,textual and policy orientation functions of conceptual metaphor with the help of corpus.The fourth part is to use the concept metaphor theory to make an in-depth statistical analysis of the New Year Greetings of Chinese Head of State(1994-2019).Firstly,the corpus is analyzed and the metaphorical sentences are selected into three categories: the orientational metaphor,the ontological metaphor and the structural metaphor.Then find a representative metaphor from each of the major categories for classification declaration.Then example analysis is conducted seperately from the perspectives of politics,economy and culture to explore the usage and rules.The fifth part is the unscramble part of conceptual metaphor in the New Year Greetings,it unscramble the linguistic function,Text function,Policy trend analysis function On the basis of analysis and induction and the corpus.The sixth part is the conclusion,which is the summary of the whole paper andthe prospect for the future research of conceptual metaphor.The first part is the summary of the important content of the whole paper.The second part is to describe the prespect of conceptual metaphor.
