Use of the word "bei" is a very important sentence pattern in Chinese grammar teaching,which is the hotspot and key point in the teaching of Chinese grammar to nonnatives.It is also a difficulty of learning Chinese as a second language.Many scholars have analyzed the "bei" sentence pattern from different angles and done a lot of research.Chinese is the second language of students in the Confucius Institute in Benin,and students of the institute make a lot of errors during their studies,the author therefore sought to investigate and analyze from the results of the survey to obtain adequate data on errors such as dislocation,error,deletion and misuse,made by students of the Confucius Institute in Benin,and suggestions are put forward for teachers and students.There are four chapters in this research.The introduction discusses the reason,purpose and significance of the author’s choice of the topic,as well as the present situation of the error of the word "bei".The first chapter is an overview of the words "bei" in Chinese and French.In this chapter,we first introduce the word "by" in Chinese from its structural features,and then introduce the passive voice in French and its format,as well as the difference between the words "bei" in Chinese and the passive voice in French.The second chapter is a detailed investigation and analysis of the errors in the use of "bei" in the middle and senior students of the Confucius Institute in Benin.By handing out questionnaires to let students know what errors they make in using "bei",this chapter focuses on the results of each questionnaire,and found that there are four types of errors in the number of students in Benin: mistaken addition,misuse,dislocation and deletion.And the above four kinds of problems are analyzed.The third chapter analyzes the reasons for the errors in use of "bei" in Chinese middle and senior students of the Confucius Institute in Benin.The fourth chapter is a discussion of results obtained.Suggestions were given on the teaching methods by teachers and the use of "bei" among students of the Confucius Institute in Benin.Finally,the content of the research is summed up as a whole.
