An Analysis Of Commissive Speech Act In Textbooks As A Second Language From The Angle Of Verbal Communication

Commissive speech act is one of the common verbal communication behaviors in daily life.However,there are many researches on speech acts such as thanks and apology.In contrast,there are few studies on commissive speech act.In particular,the textbook is an important tool for students’ daily learning.It can be said that it is the most exposed material for students.Therefore,this paper is based on the theory of verbal communication,the theory of speech act and the research of predecessors,and it analyse commissives mainly from the perspective of verbal communication.The research and analysis of speech acts hope to bring some enlightenment to the teaching of commissive speech act from a new perspective.This paper mainly includes the following four parts:The first part is the introduction.Firstly,it introduces the research object,the purpose and significance of the research,and the related theoretical review.The related theoretical review mainly introduces the research status of the commissive speech act in Chinese.The second part is a detailed description of the commissive speech act in Chinese,including connotation,behavior structure,classification and so on.In terms of connotation,we refer to Searle’s constructive rules to define the commissive speech act;in the behavior structure,we analyze it according to the theory of verbal communication;in terms of classification,firstly according to Searle’s speech act theory,according to whether it can directly infer the commissive meaning,the commissives is divided into direct commissives and indirect commissives,and then according to whether or not the commissive verb is included,the direct commissives is divided into marked direct commissives and unmarked direct commissives,and then the direct commissives is implemented according to the commissive meaning of the implementation.It is divided into pure class commissives,guarantee class commissives,swearing class commissives and promise class commissives.According to Searle’s indirect speech act theory,indirect commissives is divided intoconventional indirect commissives and non-conventional indirect commissives.The third part is to count the commissive speech act in the textbooks,and to make specific statistics and make specific analysis from the aspects of quantity,discourse form and scene.In terms of quantity,we do statistic analyze from volume,category and scene.Then make a detailed analysis of the main scene,this part is the focus of this paper.The fourth part is to evaluate the situation of the third part of the statistics,and put forward the advantages and disadvantages of the current speech materials in the commissive speech act,and put forward relevant suggestions for the shortcomings.
