In the early Shang Period,the Zhengzhou area was the capital of the Shang Dynasty.It was the center of the Shang Dynasty for a long time.During the late Shang Period,the Shang Dynasty rule center moved to Anyang,and the Zhengzhou area is still an important local center.During the Western Zhou Period,due to its special geographical location,Zhengzhou became the “bridgehead” that the rulers of the Western Zhou Dynasty controlled the Anyang area,conquered Dongyi and Huaiyi,ruled the entire East.Therefore,regardless of the late Shang Period and Western Zhou Period,Zhengzhou is an important place.First of all,this paper establishes the archaeological cultural time frame from the late Shang Period to the Western Zhou Period in Zhengzhou.It is divided into seven phases: The remains of the Phase Ⅰgenerally equaled to those of the early Huanbei Period to the Yinxu Culture Phase Ⅱ.Phase Ⅱ showed the materials representing the Yinxu Culture Phase Ⅱ.Phase Ⅲ is equivalent to the Yinxu Culture Phase Ⅲ.Phase Ⅳ generally equaled to the Yinxu Culture Phase Ⅳ.Phase Ⅴ is equivalent to the early Western Zhou Period.Phase Ⅵ is equivalent to the middle of the Western Zhou Period.Phase Ⅶ generally equaled to the late Western Zhou Dynasty.Secondly,on the basis of staging,the spatial distribution map of archaeological remains in different periods of the region was made by arc GIS,and the spatial distribution of archaeological remains was observed.Thirdly,We analyze the cultural factors of the archaeological remains from the late Shang Period to the Western Zhou Period in Zhengzhou area,analyze the cultural connotation of the area,discuss its nature and source,and conduct a preliminary analysis of the causes of cultural change.Fourth,discussion on the composition of the crowd and exploring how the Shang Dynasty and the Zhou Dynasty managed the Zhengzhou area.
