Attentional Blink(AB)is a kind of functional blindness which is reflected in the temporal dynamics during the attentional process.Under the condition of fast serial visual presentation,Subjects reported a decrease in the ability of the second target(T2)within 200ms-500ms after the presence of the first target(Tl)in the stimulus stream. This effect is called attentional blink.Researchers mainly use the Rapid Serial Visual Presentation(RSVP)task to explore the attention blink.Predecessors' research results show that emotion and cognition are the two major factors influencing the AB,past research is mostly alone, discuss the influences of perceptual load or emotional infomation of AB,but based on the theory of perceptual load, the perceptual load can adjust pay attention to in the process of the interference effect of emotional stimuli,so this study combined the two discusses AB phenomena. Moreover,in the relevant studies of AB,most of the emotional stimuli were presented as target stimuli or key interfering stimuli, and the effect of emotional information was significant in this model. However, when emotional stimuli were taken as irrelevant distracting stimuli, whether the attention bias of emotions was still stable needed to be further verified. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to explore the characteristics of attention blink of college students and middle school students in the dual-task RSVP paradigm of perceptual load and emotional information as irrelevant distraction stimuli,so as to explore the embodiment of perceptual load theory in this model. In this study, the two-task RSVP paradigm was adopted.Positive, neutral, and negative images from the international standard mood picture library were used as irrelevant distracting stimuli in the rapidly presented stimulus stream, and different perceptual loads of alphabetic images were used as target Tl.and rotated landscape images were used as target T2,requiring the subjects to correctly identify the target stimulus.Under the premise of correctly recognizing Tl,the accuracy of T2 was statistically tested. In the first experiment, college students were taken as subjects to explore the influence of perceptual load and emotional distraction stimulus on attention blink. The results showed that in college students.AB was most obvious at a T1 and T2 interval of 200ms;Higher perceived load induces more pronounced attention lapses; In the case of negative emotional distraction stimulation, attention transient was more obvious, and this effect only appeared in the case of high perceptual load;In the case of low perceptual load, there was no significant difference in attention transient in the case of various types of emotional distraction stimulation. We know that the influencing factors of attention blink mainly has two aspects, the emotional and cognitive. In experiment 1,the influence of emotional information on AB was discussed. In order to further verify the influence of cognition on AB,in experiment 2,junior high school students with weak cognitive ability were used to conduct experiments to explore the influence of cognitive level on AB.The results show that the effect of time interval and perceptual load on the group of middle school students is the same as that of college students. In the same RSVP task, middle school students showed more obvious attentional blink than college studentsThe whole study shows that in the two-task RSVP paradigm, increasing the perceptual load of the first target task(T1)will aggravate the occurrence of attentional blink. The attention to negative distraction stimulus is not completely automated, and this negative attention bias will aggravate the occurrence of attention blink.Under the condition of Tl high perceptual load, the interference effect of negative distractible stimulus was still significantly greater than that of neutral and positive distractible stimulus, which did not accord with the theory of perceptual load.Attentional blink is not fixed, and it changes with age.
