The safety exit sign is closely related to everyone. It is about the safety of people's lives and property. In case of fire, earthquake or other danger, the safety exit sign can guide people to find a safe zone and get rid of the danger. In order to explore the influence of the safety exit sign on people's choice of direction, this study selects the image of the runner in the safety exit sign as the research object, and uses the spatial Stroop paradigm and the clue-target paradigm to examine the image of the runner in the safety exit sign through two experiments. The impact on people's choice of direction.Experiment 1 used the experimental design of 2(spatial relationship:consistent,conflict)×2(installation position:high position, low position),and explored the influence of the runner image itself and its installation position on the direction of the subject. The results show that the interaction effect between the main effect of the installation location, the installation location and the spatial relationship is not significant;the main effect of the spatial relationship is significant. When the direction of the runner is in conflict with the spatial orientation of the horizontal installation position, the subject responds to the direction selection.Compared with the case of consistent,Experiment 1 verifies that the image of the runner is directional and the prolongation of the reaction after the error indicates that the subject has top-down cognitive processing control in the direction selection process.Experiment 2 used the experimental design of 2(spatial relationship:consistency, conflict)× 2(cue prompt validity:effective clue, invalid clue),and studied the image of the runners under the prompt of exogenous spatial clues. The influence of the direction selection process. The results show that the interaction between spatial relationship and the effectiveness of clue prompts is not significant;the main effect of spatial relationship is significant. When the spatial relationship between the direction of the runner and its horizontal installation position is consistent, the response of direction selection is faster; The clues suggest that the main effect of effectiveness is significant, and the response of the subject's direction selection is faster when the clue prompts are valid.Combining the results of Experiment 1 and Experiment 2,the following conclusions are obtained:(1)The image of the runner in the safety exit sign can transmit direction information. In the horizontal position, when the direction of the runner is in conflict with the direction of the horizontal installation position, spatial Stroop interference will occur, causing people to react during the direction selection process. It is longer.(2)In the process of selecting the direction according to the safety exit sign, there are both a bottom-up automatic processing process and a top-down cognitive control processing process.(3)Effective exogenous spatial clue prompts can improve the response speed of the subjects to the safety exit signs.
