A Study On The Relevance Between Contemporary Freehand Oil Painting And "Sheikh’s Six Ways"

With the development of the times,contemporary Chinese oil painting develops rapidly and pluralistically.As an important team in Chinese oil painting,freehand brushwork oil painting has been concerned by many painters since Mr.Luo Gongliu put forward it.He believes that realism is far from enough.He advocates that Chinese oil painting should integrate western realism with traditional Chinese freehand painting spirit after several generations.Efforts,its development has shown a new look and spiritual characteristics of the times.The rapid development of contemporary freehand brushwork oil painting and its vigorous vitality are also the manifestation of the return of Chinese oil painting to the mainland.Therefore,it is particularly important to study the inheritance and development of the essence of Chinese traditional painting in contemporary freehand brushwork oil painting.Freehand brushwork oil painting is based on the characteristics of Western oil painting and the spirit of traditional Chinese painting.Through the continuous efforts of several generations of Chinese oil painters,it has reached this increasingly mature situation.In order to further develop freehand oil painting,we must have a deeper understanding of Chinese traditional painting,dig deeper into the spirit of Chinese traditional freehand painting,and then implant it into the creation of freehand oil painting,in order to make the freehand oil painting team more prosperous.As the essence of traditional Chinese painting theory,the "Six Ways of Sheikh" contains many principles that deserve to be deeply explored by contemporary practitioners of freehand painting.The "Six Ways of Sheikh" is only one of the many values of traditional Chinese painting and the connotation of traditional Chinese culture.Because of its unique aesthetic concept and artistic value,it has become the object of study by aestheticians of all dynasties.However,its impact is not onlyconfined to the field of Chinese painting,accompanied by the wave of reform and opening up,art flourishes,it also has a subtle impact on Western painting.Oil painting,as a kind of painting from the West,has been constantly explored and practiced by Chinese oil painters,which is also the inevitable result of the process of nationalization and localization of oil painting.Starting from the relationship between the "Six Ways of Sheikh" and contemporary freehand painting,this paper attempts to put the "freehand" advocated by contemporary freehand painting into the context of traditional Chinese painting,so that it can be based on the essence of traditional Chinese culture and fully immerse the nutrition of traditional Chinese culture.At the same time,it analyses the relationship between contemporary freehand brushwork oil painting and the "six methods of Sheikh" from three aspects: relevance,similarity and expansion.Taking the "Six Law of Sheikh" as a breakthrough point,this paper demonstrates that contemporary freehand oil painting provides various possibilities for the exploration of nationalization of oil painting in its adherence to and breakthrough,inheritance and innovation.Moreover,any theory has its limitations of the times,and "the Six Sheikh Laws" is no exception.The last chapter also attempts to analyze the limitations of the times of "the Six Sheikh Laws" from the perspective of "contemporariness",and clarifies that if contemporary freehand painting wants to get new development in the current cultural context,it needs artists to integrate into life,reflect on the current situation,look at the problems from the contemporary perspective,and use contemporary expression to counter it.Reflecting the current social situation,from the two levels of formal language and ideological connotation to explore,so as to make contemporary freehand painting more prosperous.
