In the early Republic of China, with the great changes in China’s politics,Confucianism,as the traditionally official ideology, also lost its exclusive status. In order to save the national belief crisis and reshape the authority of Confucianism,a large number of intellectuals from the central government to various places were committed to the revival of Confucianism, and many Confucian groups have been established.Exploring on the road of revival of Confucianism and working hard in the process of transformation, they all won a place for Confucianism in the modern society. At present, the researches on the Confucius Group and Confucianism in the academic circles are mostly concentrated on the study of the Confucianism practice activities of the Central Confucian Church in Beijing and the Confucianism in the Confucian Church. The research on the local Confucius Organization is limited to the research on the organization and development of local organizations. There is a lack of systematic investigation.Of course, there is a lack of independent research on the small size of the Confucius Group in most places, the short period of time and the fact that it is attached to the Confucius Church. However, the two major Confucian organizations formed in Shanxi in the early Republic of China were different. The establishment of the Zong Sheng Association was accompanied by “independence”.Although it was attached to the Confucius Church for a period of time,it shouted for the National Movement. However, after the national Confucianism organization fell into a low tide in 1917,Xi Xin organization was quickly derived from the Zong Sheng Association, and the task of revival of Confucianism continued to be practiced in Shanxi, and a different one came out.The main contents of this paper mainly include the following aspects:The first chapter is mainly about the Confucian culture and Shanxi society in the historical period, then discusses the Confucian crisis in modern times andthe reflection of some people in Shanxi, the establishment of the Zong Sheng Association and Xi Xinshe and the related introduction to the two organizations. The second chapter is to examine the series of activities of the Zong Sheng Association and summarize its Confucian “reconstruction”activities, which are divided into two lines: one is the upward route, and in the interaction with the Central Confucian Church in Beijing, defending the national education movement and the process of religionization and reconstruction of Confucianism;another is the downward route, that is,the interaction with Shanxi, mainly engaged in some Confucianism promotion activities, although its content is not systematic and it is worthy of attention. The third chapter is the “reconstruction” of Confucianism after the Zong Sheng Association is in a low tide.It is mainly a series of Confucian transformations carried out by Xi Xin organization to serve the “Yongmin Politics”.This period is mainly about the patriotism and the socialization of Confucianism, which makes Confucianism truly effective in the social grassroots. Finally,in the conclusion of this paper, the development path of Confucianism is firstly discussed in Shanxi, that is,the Xi Xin organization has embarked on a socialized and secularized path of Confucianism that can serve the grassroots society. Then the “depoliticization” of Confucianism is talked about. The center is to explore how to achieve Confucianism to move closer to the general public, and how to find out the greatest effectiveness of Confucianism to serve the development of human society.
