A research on the components of sentence that composed by the learmers during the process of acquisition of a target language is a very important task for teachers in second language teaching.Chinese attributives,work as a modifier,are an important and unique sentence component in Chinese grammatical system.Chinese attributives are the focus as well as the difficulty of learning in second language teaching.The Chinese basic level students of Universiti Malaysia Sabah(hereinafter called "UMS")always having errors in the acquisition of Chinese attributives due to the differences between Chinese attributives structure and grammatical rules of their mother tongue or English.Therefore,grounded in the Interlanguage Theory,this paper uses Chinese basic level students of UMS as the research object,and applies the horizontal synchronic corpus method to record and sort out the corpus of written and oral errors of Chinese basic level students of UMS for few years.We select the errors corpus in Chinese attributive grammar and pragmatic rules,etc.Through the "surface feature of strategy" errors classification method,the errors corpus are divided into wrong order,missing,added,misplaced,and then apply Contrastive Analysis and Error Analysis to examine the typical error of attributives made by Chinese basic level students of UMS.The Contrastive Analysis of this paper mainly focuses on the eomparison between Chinese and Malay language.The paper makes a general comparison of Malay and Chinese attributives,and the relationship with the Headword of the sentence,types of Malay and Chinese attributives,the marker of Malay and Chinese attributives.Given that Malaysian education policy is“bilingual,education,some examples of the errors influenced by English language are also included in the scope of analysis.The Error Analysis of this paper has found that the acquisition of attributive components of UMS Chinese basic level students are mostly the commonly used attributives:content word attributes,such as nouns,pronouns,adjectives,etc.;and phrase attributives,such as partial,quantity phrase,joint phrases,prepositional structure,etc.;and the usage of attributive marker;’的”In addition to the main impact of interference of mother tongue and the generalization of target language rules on making attributives error of UMS’s Chinese basic level students,the study also found that the bad learning environment,teachers’ inability,teaching materials shortage,and students,low motivation of learning also influence the happen of attributives error.Based on the results of the study,a few attributives components teaching methods for UMS’s Chinese basic level students have been suggested,such as strengthen targeted training on attributives,strengthen the teaching of comparative analysis of attributives,improve teachers’capabilities in second language teaching and research,and compile localized teaching materials.The study aims to find a target-oriented teaching method for this group of students in order to decrease the barriers of learning attributives,improve the efficiency of learning Chinese,and achieve the effect of teaching and learning.
