Study On The Motivation Of Modifier Head Compound Words

Based on the guiding ideology of Marxist theory of language,this paper analyzes the Modifier Head Compound Words in Chinese.The motivation of words in Chinese is a remarkable characteristic,which is the cause of the occurrence and development of Chinese words.In recent years,with the rise of functional linguistics,especially the development of cognitive linguistics,linguistic research ranges from phonology,shape plane to syntactic and pragmatic level.Thus,the motivation between the linguistic symbols and the meaning of their expression is realized.The research on the motivation of Chinese modifier head compound words is a relatively new academic subject.Although thinking on motivation in our country came into being a long time ago in ancient times,and modern linguists exploration and research on it is also in an unprecedented period of prosperity,the research results are still very few.This is especially true in the research of applying it to Chinese teaching.Therefore,it is very necessary and meaningful to combine the research on the motivation of partial compound words with Chinese teaching,which will have a certain impact on Chinese teaching.This paper analyzes the motivation of the partial formal compound words in modern Chinese,concludes the features of its motivation,and also discusses the teaching strategies of compound words in modern Chinese vocabulary teaching,with a view to applying them to the teaching practice of Chinese vocabulary.Improve the efficiency and ability of non-native Chinese learners to learn Chinese vocabulary and promote their interest in learning Chinese.The full text is divided into five parts:First is the introduction,mainly introduce the purpose and significance of the paper,motivation research status,research objects and methods.The second part describes the emergence and development of partial compound words,the definition of partial formal compound words,deference between compound words and partial formal phrases,and structure of compound words.The third part points out the concept of arbitrariness and explicability of symbols,the concept of lexical motivation and the classification of lexical motivation.The fourth part is the motivation analyses of Chinese partial compound words,the author discusses four types of motivation of compound words in detail like features,rhetoric,abbreviations,culture and so on in aspects of biased.The fifth part introduce the six characteristics of partial formal compound words on the basis of the above-mentioned classification,including explicitly and indeterminacy,imagery and objectivity,stability and variability.Finally,this paper puts out the application and value of the Modifier Head Compound Words motivation analyses to Chinese teaching.In the end,Appendix provides a summary of Chinese Modifier Head Compound Words.
