Krzysztof Kieslowski is a Polish film director and screenwriter.His work always focuses on the situation of individual destiny in a chaotic situation.The Decalogue is the TV series he directed in 1989,and won the 46th Venice Film Festival competition unit Feibisi Award and Children’s Film Award.The play is composed of ten different modern moral tales,and Decalogue·2 is the second episode.Decalogue·2 presents the characters in a chaotic situation,how to make free choices and take actions according to free will,to bring to others and the meaning of the world.It can be seen that Decalogue·2 is the classic text of existentialism.This article will be based on Sartre’s existential philosophy theory,specifically analyzing the existential text Decalogue·2.Based on this,the graduation work Lotus in the Rain was analyzed.The paper consists of five parts.The 1st is an introduction,briefly introducing the Sartre existential philosophy,Kieslowski’s Decalogue·2 and the graduation work Lotus in the Rain.It summarizes the domestic and international research status of Decalogue·2and draws the topic.The 2nd chapter mainly analyzes the existential text Decalogue·2based on Sartre’s existential philosophy.The 3rd chapter analyzes the specific situation of existentialists in Decalogue·2 from the Sartre existential philosophy.The 4th chapter focuses on the graduation work Lotus in the Rain as the existential text and the specific situation of existentialists in the text.The conclusion summarizes the full text,starting from Sartre’s existential philosophy and embodying the guiding significance of free will in Decalogue·2 and Lotus in the Rain.
