To Develop Chinese Soft Power: Culture Narrative In Five Dimensions

Improving national soft power is a national strategy.Since Chinese reform and opening up,with the rapid development of the economy,Chinese national status and international influence have been increasing,and the country’s hard power has been greatly improved,Chinese soft power has also been greatly developed.But at the same time,it also faces the The issues of "China threat theory","China collapse theory","China must win the theory","China arrogance theory","China responsibility theory" and other international public opinion concerns,the monopoly of international discourse power,and the international community’s expectations of China’s shoulder-to-shoulder responsibility,and other challenges such as slow development and imbalance of soft power.How to identify China’s position in the world structure,enhance Chinese international competitiveness,and enhance the country’s soft power is a major realistic issue currently facing.The soft power theory of American scholar Joseph Nye reveals the importance of the influence of soft power elements in non-mandatory ways in improving the country’s overall national strength,It provides useful enlightenment and reference for us to explore how to better improve the country’s soft power.This study aims to enhance Chinese soft power,build a community with a shared future for mankind,and contribute new discourse to the human knowledge system as a worldview and guiding ideology.It is based on cultural narratology,the narrative analysis method and case analysis are the main research methods,which fully explores the textual value and historical significance of Chinese stories in enhancing the country’s soft power,and builds a cultural narrative theoretical framework model to enhance China’s soft power.It summarizes and proposes a five-dimensional cultural narrative strategy to enhance China’s soft power,and provides a method and path of scientific value for improving China’s soft power research.There are five chapters.The first chapter is the introduction,which discusses the background and significance of the research on promoting the soft power of Chinese culture,as well as the research review at home and abroad,and introduces the main ideas,theoretical basis and research methods of this paper.The second chapter defines the concept of soft power and the connotation of the concept of cultural soft power,analyzes the theoretical resources of soft power research from multiple perspectives.The third chapter summarizes the narrative analysis framework of Chinese cultural discourse by discussing the field of Chinese contemporary cultural narratology represents academic achievements.The fourth chapter focuses on the five dimensions of cultural concepts,cultural rituals,cultural symbols,cultural products and cultural beliefs.The fifth chapter center discuss intrinsic value and extrinsic value from two levels of the five dimensions.It chooses seven representative Chinese story case samples to make omni-directional qualitative analysis,which are The Wandering Earth,Confucianism,Buddhism and Taoism,Symbol construction of Chinese panda,Spring Festival party,Cultural and creative products of Forbidden city,The history story of One Belt And One Road and Governing the country stories of Chinese Communist Party,then summarize culture Narrative strategies in five dimensions which can develop Chinese soft power.
