On the foundation of translation and introduction,aesthetics theory absorption and advanced technology,new mainstream films in China reflect the unique ideological value and artistic charm based on cultural self-confidence and highlighted artistic characteristics.The methodology basis of the thesis is the film rhetoric theory,which focuses on the long-existed contradictions and deficiencies of the mainstream films,especially in the “social indoctrination” and “aesthetic presentation”.Analyzing how the film language rhetoric conveys the ideology from visual threshold,the paper explores the innovations,transformations,methods and strategies of the subjects from visual,auditory rhetoric and line rhetoric.The thesis proposes that the outstanding characteristic of mainstream film language rhetoric in 2012-2018 is the conveyance of mainstream ideology and the aesthetic value oriented by “people-centered”guidance.The thesis will analyze the following aspects:The introduction starts from the development achieved by the mainstream films of new era.By analyzing the influence and requirements,which are issued by political,economic and cultural transformations on the mainstream film rhetoric,the thesis emphasizes both its realistic and theoretical significance.Additionally,the thesis notonly systematically elaborates on previous researches on the mainstream film rhetoric,but distinguishes the related conceptions.The first chapter,from the perspective of the visual rhetoric,analyzes the rhetorical effect and visual aesthetics brought by the usage of colors,image representations and lens transformation to the mainstream film language.Exploring the mainstream films of new era,the thesis examines how to achieve an orderly balance between visual scene and poetic expression in the social context of the prevailing “visual culture”.The second chapter,from the perspective of film language auditory rhetoric,analyzes the mainstream film language development in virtue of movie sound technology.By presenting the realistic beauty in acoustic rhetoric,the ideology conveyance in music rhetoric,the specific artistic exploration in silent rhetoric,films achieve an effective extension of auditory perception,as well as elevate its artistic standard and aesthetic value.In the third chapter,from the perspective of film lines rhetoric,the thesis discusses how the lines from mainstream films actively integrates into the mass discourse through venturing innovative patterns for writing,performing and presenting in the context of pop culture.After elevating the aesthetics and being embraced by the audience,film lines contribute to convey the mainstream ideology.Based on the present situation of rhetoric method,ideology orientation and international communication,the epilogue reflects upon the challenges and concerns about the mainstream films in 2012-2018.Moreover,it not only proposes that the mainstream film rhetoric should balance between “moderation and adaption”,“classics and innovation”,“nationality and internationality”,but provides a prospect for its further development.
