Study On Linguistic Landscape And Chinese Usage In Bangkok,Thailand

In the field of sociolinguistics and international applied linguistics in recent years,the study of language landscape has received much attention,and it has achieved relatively fruitful results,showing a good development prospect.Compared with foreign Chinese landscape studies,domestic language landscape research is still in its infancy,and there are few studies on Chinese landscapes abroad.In the current study of language landscapes,most of them focus on multilingualism,language policy,and minority language research.There are few studies on foreign Chinese landscape itself,and the study of language landscape Chinese teaching is more studied.It is rarely involved.Therefore,the author believes that it is necessary to conduct an empirical study of foreign Chinese landscapes.This paper is an empirical study of the language landscape in Bangkok.It is a quantitative analysis of the language patterns and language choices of the language landscape in Bangkok.According to the analysis results,bilingual and multilingual models are the majority,and the monolingual mode language landscape is less;in terms of language selection.Chinese-speaking areas and non-Chinese gathering areas all use Thai as the first dominant language.English is widely used throughout the Bangkok area as an international versatile language.At the same time,a large number of Chinese landscapes are set up in the Bangkok area.In terms of quantity,Chinese gathering areas The Chinese landscape is more than the non-Chinese gathering area.The analysis of the characteristics of the Chinese landscape in Bangkok shows that the Chinese landscape in Bangkok has the characteristics of mixed characters,the use of Geely words in vocabulary,the words that reflect cultural characteristics,and the use of homonyms and imitations in store naming.The rhetorical approach.The information function of non-Chinese gathering areas mainly has four functions: indicating function,behavior regulating function,interactive function,and cognitive function;the Chinese landscape of Chinese gathering area reflects the identity and cultural identity of local Chinese,which is also the Chinese landscape.Symbolic function.The misuse of Chinese landscape in Bangkok shows that the misuse of Chinese in the Chinese landscape in Bangkok mainly has misuse of four aspects: non-standard words,inaccurate translation,inappropriate style and dissonance.The Chinese landscape in Bangkok has a negative and positive impact on Chinese learners.In Chinese teaching,we have arranged Chinese language learners to arrange courses related to Chinese landscape,such as creating Chinese landscapes,interviewing Chinese landscape founders,etc.The applicable value of Chinese landscape in Chinese teaching has realized the transformation of Chinese landscape from resources to learning tools.
