| With China’s reform and opening up,the exchanges between China and the West have become increasingly close, and the demand for English-Chinese translation has also increased steadily. This Chinese-English translation practice report is based on the method of the literal and free translation. The translator translated the Chapter IV and V of the book Basic Photographic Skills and Creations from Chinese into English.Based on the translation, some typical examples were selected to analyze and discuss how to apply translation theories and techniques flexibly to the translation practice of informative texts on photographic subjects.During the analysis of translation examples, three categories were classified: literal translation, free translation and the integration of literal and free translation. The following conclusions are drawn based on the translation practice.First, the translators’ professional background is closely related to the quality of translation. Before the translation, the translators should read many professional parallel texts in the related field and had better have a certain background of professional knowledge, ensuring the accuracy and professionalism of the translation and avoiding making fewer errors.Second, appropriate translation strategies should be employed so as not to simply focus on the translation effect without considering the accurate transmission of information and the readers’ acceptance.Third,in this paper, literal and free translation strategies were utilized to elaborate their full application respectively, but in the actual translation process, the two strategies should be integrated to improve the quality of the translation and provide a reference for the future translation practice of the similar texts.Figure 0;Table 0;Reference 27... |
