The Model Of Indonesia Singkawang Chinese Education

The way of running schools is a special model for initiating and managing schools.The way of running schools depends on both the specific genotype of resource and the structure of organization.This thesis aims to investigate the way of running Chinese language school in Singkawang City,West Kalimantan,Indonesia from historical documents and interviews.Since 1998,Chinese education in Singkawang has newly developed like other areas in Indonesia.Not only new extension schools for Chinese language were set up in various areas,but also,whether public or private,university,public junior high school,public elementary school,and kindergarten have opened Chinese classes in succession.In addition to teachers’ and students’ effort,the reason why Chinese education in Singkawang has the certain achievement is because of local Chinese community.Chinese leaders,and enthusiastic personage strongly supported.However,the Chinese education in Singkawang is still facing a lot of problem in qualified teachers and fund.In order to resolve these problems,in early May 2003,East Java Chinese Language Education Coordination Institute advocated that “normal tri-language school” should be set up,even the way of tri-language school should replace “the way of at the 2nd Indonesian Chinese education conference”: on the other hand Chinese education by the way of tri-language school haven’t achieved the particular effect.This thesis is attempted to study both the problem in Chinese education and the related way of running school,especially on Chinese education in Singkawang.This study is divided into five parts: the introduction mainly includes the meaning of the topic,the research background and the status quo,research methods and innovations.The second chapter is the school-running mode of Singkawang Chinese Education.It mainly introduces the schoolrunning model of Singkawang Chinese education from the aspects of teaching objectives,teaching content,teaching materials,students and teachers.The third chapter is the investigation and analysis of the school-running mode of Singkawang Chinese education.The content is to analyze the data obtained from the survey and find out the problems existing in running a Chinese language.The fourth chapter is about the development of the school-running mode of Singkawang Chinese education.It is mainly the author’s countermeasures based on the problems in the Chinese education model;the conclusion concludes that Singkawang Chinese education should streng then the tutoring/school,especially in the training of Chinese teachers,but also through regular primary and secondary schools,trilingual the school model is to promote more people to learn Chinese.
