In the classroom of teaching Chinese as a second language,the teaching of complex grammar items is a crucial link.Learners’ acquisition of complex grammar items is directly reflected in their ability to understand and express Chinese in practice.Whether the teaching materials are reasonable for the composition of the complex sentence grammar items has a great influence on the effect of the complex sentence teaching.Level Chinese as a comprehensive set of representative textbooks for the replacement of new and old Chinese textbooks,has many grammatical arrangements that are worth learning and thinking.This text selects the Level Chinese Comprehensive Textbooks of Level 1 to Level 4 and 5 to 10 Intensive Reading Textbooks as the research object.The author uses comparative analysis,literature search,data induction and some other methods and compares with the Syllabus of Long Term further studies for overseas students as reference to conduct an in-depth analysis of the types of complex sentences and grammar items in textbooks,the exercise of complex sentences and the recurrence of complex sentences.The purpose of this text is to make an objective evaluation of the arrangement of the complex grammar items in textbooks,and then to put forward effective editing recommendations.The author hopes that this study can make a meager effort to improve the writing of Chinese textbooks for foreigners.The full text is divided into the following five parts:The first chapter introduces the significance of the topic,the research object and the status quo review,and introduces the research aims and main research methods.The second chapter is the horizontal comparison between the complex sentence type and the complex sentence grammar items and the Syllabus of Long Term further studies for overseas students,which are divided into three stages: elementary,medium and high.It also compares the similarities and differences between the complex sentence type and the complex sentence grammar items included in the textbook and the outline.The third chapter,from the four aspects of practice distribution,practice questions,practice amount and practice content,examines the practice setting of the Level Chinese,comprehensive textbook complex sentence with reference to the arrangement of the three stages of elementary,middle and high.The fourth chapter takes the regular pattern of memory forgetting as the theoretical basis,and investigates the situation of repetitive arrangement in grammar items of the comprehensive textbooks of the Level Chinese.It found an unreasonable situation in its repetitive arrangement.The fifth chapter summarizes the advantages and problems of the textbook complex sentence arrangement based on the previous textbooks,and proposes improvement suggestions for the complex sentence type and grammar item selection,the complex sentence practice setting and the complex sentence recurrence,etc.
