In recent years, the number and types of Japanese movies purchased and imported have gradually increased, and Japanese movies have ushered in a new round of brilliance in the Chinese market. This study takes "cross-cultural communication" as the theoretical basis. The first stage clarifies the course and characteristics of Japanese films’ cross-cultural communication in China through data analysis. The second stage is an empirical study on the content analysis of cross-cultural transmission of Japanese movies, exploring the similarities and differences of family, personal, love and social values between the two countries;through in-depth interviews with fans and introducers, exploring how the introducers play a good role in cultural transmission. The third stage summarizes the research results and gives suggestions on the development of domestic film and television industry. The study finds that the spread of Japanese films in China can be divided into five stages. There are many themes about "friendship and family" and "democracy and rule of law" in Japanese movies, while Chinese and Japanese audiences prefer the type of "drama".Japanese movies closer to our cultural values are more likely to be loved and welcomed by mainland audiences. There are significant differences in the family concept of "thriving family","prospering family","family and everything","distinct grievances","optimistic and enterprising" personal view, and "equal rights and openness","altruism" social view.Japanese movies with high ratings in Japan show remarkable family views of "filial piety, respect for ancestors","bestowing and accepting relatives by men and women","self-interest and selfpreservation",and social views of "reincarnation and reward" and "respect for feelings".The acceptance of "love is sacrifice and dedication" is generally higher than that of "love is possession".Through the management strategies of "content de-localization" and "form delocalization",the introducer chooses Japanese films that conform to the taste and cultural aesthetics of mainland audiences, and adopts localization methods such as translation, dubbing, editing, marketing and publicity to close the cultural distance between Japanese films and mainland audiences.
