Grammar teaching has always played an important role in second language teaching.Teaching methods are the key to achieve better grammar teaching effects. The Ba-sentence is a unique sentence pattern that is frequently used and seen in Chinese language. It has been regarded as a key and difficult point in Chinese as a second language teaching. In recent years, there are increasing TCSOL studies on teaching Basentence.Scholars have explored the teaching methods of this particular sentence from multiple angles and levels. However,it can also be found that teaching practices or studies on teaching Ba-sentence focus on the structure description, failing to jump out the essence of traditional grammatical analysis for a long time. The complexity of the Ba-sentence directly makes it difficult to teach and learn. In the process of seeking breakthroughs and better solutions, the ConstructionChunk(CC)Approach, advocated by Lu Jianming,Su Danjie, etc.,was found to be applied in analyzing some special Chinese constructions. Its essence lies in the cognitive-universal orientation in language teaching, which evokes L2 learners’ cognitive common sense and leads to better understanding of certain syntactic structure in the target language. It coincides with the demand of a better teaching method in teaching Ba sentence.Furthermore, there are successful cases of applying this approach to some special Chinese sentence patterns teaching, and the international students studying in China are the main participants in those cases. However, studies on CC Approach applied to Chinese grammar teaching in Ecuador are hardly found.Meanwhile, the investigation of Chinese teaching in Ecuador shows the necessity of studying the method of Chinese grammar teaching especially Ba sentence teaching in Ecuador."S+Ba+N1+V+zai/dao/gei +N2" as one of the basic Ba sentence patterns is chosen to be the teaching content in this study according to the teaching materials in Ecuador and the learners’ actual Chinese level.Consequently, inspired by the CC Approach, this thesis designs an experiment of teaching "S+Ba+N1+V+zai/dao/gei +N2" for two classes with 20 participants in each from Benjamin Franklin school in Ecuador, who are at the same level of primary Chinese. The results of the teaching experiment indicate that the teaching effect of the CC Approach applied to "S+Ba+N1+V+zai/dao/gei +N2" is significantly better than the traditional grammar teaching methods;and the feedback from the experiment participants is that the CC Approach is more interesting and makes it easier to understand the language point. This thesis consists of five chapters altogether. The first Chapter introduces the background of the topic, the purpose of the research and the significance of the research. It also illustrates the domestic and foreign research status of applying the CC Approach to Chinese language teaching, and then the research status of the teaching studies on Ba-sentence and the studies on teaching Ba-sentence in Ecuador can be summarized. The second Chapter introduces the research design of this paper from four aspects: research object, research questions, research methods and research process. The third Chapter refers to the teaching content and teaching design involved in the teaching experiment, processing and analyzing the collected experimental data and obtaining the experimental results. The results show that the CC Approach is more acceptable to the students, and the teaching effect is more obvious. The fourth chapter puts forward some suggestions on teaching “S+Ba+N1+V+zai/dao/gei+N2” based in CC Approach. As the dialectical summary of this study, the fifth Chapter proposes the major findings, research limitations and implications, and suggestions for further research.
