During the Anti-Japanese War,reportage played a great role in society as a "light cavalry of literature" and became one of the mainstream literary styles at that time.Reportage, which involves a large number of writers' works and causes a wide range of social effects, should become an indispensable link in the study of anti-Japanese literature. This paper focuses on the literary issues during the Anti-Japanese War,mainly including the divergence of literariness connotation of reportage, and a series of discussions on the relationship between literariness and authenticity in the cross-domain context of literature and news. The main body is divided into three chapters.Chapter one,the germination of the literary problem of reportage theory. The "literariness" of reportage is a rhetoric technique derived from fictional literature, while the "literariness" refers specifically to the controversy of reportage's ontological understanding caused by its leap over news and literature. Before reportage came into being, there was a close relationship between news and literature.Reportage, though introduced as a foreign style,is also produced in the interactive relationship between domestic journalism and literary journalism. In the early theory of reportage, although most theorists regarded it as a literary style, they did not attach importance to the existence of literariness, but mainly regarded it as a tool of political struggle to achieve propaganda, incitement and other purposes. In the promotion of reportage, the neglect of literary skills leads to scribbles in writing, which is not conducive to the further development of reportage. For this reason, theorists have put forward the requirement of strengthening literariness, which has led to the literary problems of reportage.Chapter two,the development of reportage theory literary issues during the Anti-Japanese War.Choose Zhou Gangming,Mao Dun and the theory of group as three nodes in the history of literary issues, and extend their respective context. The first is the emergence of literary problems. In How to Write Reportage,Zhou Gangming first explicitly and systematically expanded the literariness of Reportage from simple "visualization" to specific descriptive techniques, and realized the integration of literariness and authenticity through "visualization of events" with vague "authenticity" meaning. The conflict between literariness and authenticity appeared here. Therefore,Zhou Gangming and later theorists had to frequently adopt the "avoidance" expression with the "moderation" principle as the core. The second is "the intensification of literary problems".Mao Dun transplanted the "typical theory" in his novel to reportage, which is equivalent to Zhou Gangming's foundation, and expanded from "image description" to "image creation",which aroused strong repercussions from other theorists.Compared with the previous stage, theorists can no longer evade the contradiction between literariness and authenticity with the principle of "moderation",but must take a clear stand to support or oppose it.Therefore, the literary problem is intensified in the discussion of "typical theory".Finally,it is "the stereotype and silence of literary problems".The contradiction between reportage literariness and authenticity is pointed out directly in the theory of "typicality" by Qun,and his own answer is given. He has become a very few theorists who responded positively to literary problems during the whole Anti-Japanese War.Literary issues have been fully stated here in Yiqun,so they are called "stereotypes" of literary issues. However, since then, the discussion of literary issues by groups has not received more responses.Since reportage theory developed to the late period of the Anti-Japanese War,the total number of reportage theory gradually decreased, and the viewpoints had been assimilated,so it was also called "silence" of literary issues.Chapter three, the causes and significance of the literary problems of reportage theory during the Anti-Japanese War.As far as the causes of literariness are concerned, literariness is put forward in order to serve the war of resistance by shaping the sense of reality. However, when the meaning of authenticity is not yet clear, the subjective imagination carried by literariness constitutes a conflict with the objective reality required by journalism. In fact, the connotation of authenticity demanded by theorists has shifted from the early objective reality to the essential truth and emotional truth, and the authenticity of subject matter and content has actually transformed into the reader's authenticity in reading. For the purpose of serving the War of Resistance Against Japan,we pay attention to the effect of reading. What theorists call "fiction" actually turns to the description of fiction. In terms of significance, the discussion of reportage theory on literary issues during the Anti-Japanese War had an impact on reportage writing, making it shift from the early simple news record to the image-building of the characters;on the other hand,it really transferred its discourse power from the field of journalism to the field of literature, which responded to various doubts that Reportage was regarded as a low-level writing form before. In a word, the literary problems in reportage theory during the Anti-Japanese War are mainly how to differentiate the relationship between literariness and authenticity within the literariness. The contradiction between literariness and journalism(authenticity)has been the focus of debates on reportage for centuries.A theoretical study of the literary connotation and historical context of this period will help us to further understand the definition and characteristics of reportage,a special style.
