Intangible cultural heritage is increasingly valued at home and abroad, and it maintains the common memory of people of all countries. In China, oral and intangible cultural heritage is a folk cultural heritage, and intangible cultural heritage is called “the back of national memory”.Therefore,a documentary on the subject of intangible cultural heritage(hereinafter referred to as non-legacy)protects and inherits the nation.Cultural aspects play an irreplaceable role. With the promulgation and implementation of the relevant document policy of non-legacy protection, the non-legacy documentary that the central government regards is gradually entering the audience’s field of vision. How to use the film and television media to grasp the audience’s eye and tell the story between the inheritor and the non-legacy is particularly important in the new media era. This time, through the filming of non-legacy films, the objective and artistic records of traditional music-related projects will be recorded in a dynamic image, and the unique human and social and cultural values will be truly conveyed. In order to better use the documentary to promote the protection and dissemination of non-legacy,this article is guided by theories of narratology and semiotics.Research methods such as literature analysis, case analysis, and practice creation are used.On the basis of some excellent non-legacy documentaries in China, combined with his own creation,"Liaozhai Search",he comprehensively and stereoscopically interprets the narrative art of non-legacy documentaries from his narrative structure, narrative viewpoint, narrative language and narrative strategy. The article mainly consists of five parts: The first part is the status quo and narrative features of intangible cultural heritage documentaries. The concept and theory of intangible cultural heritage,non-legacy documentary and narrative art are sorted out,the status quo of non-legacy documentaries since 2011 is compiled, and then the original works are used to analyze the narrative features of non-legacy documentaries. The second part begins with the narrative structure of the non-legacy documentary, summarizing the three narrative structures commonly used as the parallel narrative structure, the progressive narrative structure and the central tandem narrative structure. The third part further discusses thenarrative point of view of the non-legacy documentary, starting from the zero-focus narrative, the inner focus narrative, the outer focus narrative, and the diversified focus. The fourth part is an in-depth analysis of the narrative language of the non-legacy documentary. It is explained from the three perspectives of picture language, sound language and montage thinking.Especially the sound element plays an important role in the documentary narrative. The fifth part is a general discussion of the narrative strategy of the non-legacy documentary.By creating suspense, grasping details, reappearing the scene, and controlling the rhythm,it can better enhance the expressiveness of the work. Finally,by summarizing the shortcomings and prospects,we will accumulate experience for the creation of non-legacy documentaries, with a view to better communication and development.
