The Tragic Study Of Stephen Chow’s Movies

Tragedy is an important feature of Stephen chow’s films and an important element that distinguishes his works from other comedies.At present,most of the studies on Stephen chow’s films focus on his comedy elements,while the studies on his tragedy are scattered in some papers and monographs.Therefore,it is necessary to thoroughly and systematically explore the origin,performance,aesthetic experience and modern value of Stephen chow’s tragic films from the perspective of tragedy.This paper analyzes the tragic elements in all the film works participated by Stephen chow,collects research materials through works observation,literature research,video data analysis and other ways,and adopts the research method of combining qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis to deal with the materials.This paper is divided into six parts:The first part is the introduction,which mainly introduces the research status and objects of this paper,defines the commonly used terms in this paper,and discusses the research value of this paper.The second part summarizes the basic situation of Stephen chow’s films from three perspectives: his personal experience,the characteristics of his films in different periods and his personal colors.The third part from the tragic plot and the characters’ tragic two direction,combined with Stephen chow film works,are analyzed from the aspects of the plot in the dramatic setting,the destiny resistance on the performance and the interpretation of death of the tragic,analyzed in terms of characters in the appearance,characters,lines and the tragic character.In the fourth part,the previous definition of sublime and purifying pleasure is the theory,which analyzes the kung fu,the god of food,the seventh Yangtze river and the mermaid directed by Stephen chow,and summarizes the tragic aesthetic experience of Stephen chow’s films.The fifth part,based on the above conclusions,starts from the tragic culturalvalue and social value of Stephen chow’s films,and analyzes its positive role in the reconstruction of traditional cultural connotation,the promotion of pop culture value,the maintenance of moral order and the cultivation of crisis awareness.The sixth part is the conclusion,which summarizes the value of this paper and explains the shortcomings of the paper.
