| This paper devote herself to the studies on rhetorical mechanism of promotional videos on national image of China under the theoretical basis of rhetoric.Definition of promotional videos on national image of China,which is the research object in this study,had been elucidated,and specific texts or samples had been selected and determined as well.The above definition and specific samples represent the precondition or presupposition of the paper,and governing all the analyses and discussions herein and thereafter.The generating mechanism,expression mechanism and acceptance mechanism of rhetoric in the promotional videos on national image of China occupy a significant position in this paper.They jointly constitute a concept or terminology named rhetorical mechanism,and logically the above three mechanisms are successively linked or related.The generating mechanism studies issues like“what is the rhetoric object” or “why shall we use rhetoric” etc.,in which every single scene or snatch in promotional videos on national image of China had been picked out and discussed,and common features of the rhetoric subject in choosing objects had been generalized as well.An analysis on rhetorical aim & strategy determines the overall strategic design of rhetoric’s main body before beginning rhetorical activities.The expression mechanism had been studied under the guidance of the established aims and strategies of rhetoric,which focuses its attention on questions like “how rhetoric subject functions” and “what are the effects of rhetorical activities”.Rhetorical activities refer to how rhetoric functions,which covered a broad sense including but not limited to words,sentences,styles,figures of speech,and rhetoric styles.Rhetorical activities are concrete measures taken by rhetoric’s main body in rhetorical mechanism of promotional videos on national image of China.Last but not least,the acceptance mechanism discusses issues like “what are the factors that affect the audience”,and an answer to this question actually presents a reflection or self-examination on the past promotional videos on national image of China,bringing significant impact and guidance on the production of promotional videos thereafter. |
