Jie Zhang,a contemporary Chinese female writer,is known for her first aesthetic and idealistic novel A Child From The Forest published in Beijing Literature And Art in 1978.In the year,she won first national excellent short story award.Among the contemporary female writers,Jie Zhang started late but worked diligently.She is both flexible and unique in her writing,meantime remaining female’s sensitivity and care to life.She is recognized by both domestic and international awards,and made a name in the history of literature.As her courage in exploration,Jie Zhang is the vanguard of feminist literature.(by Sihe Chen.)From the perspective of psychoanalysis,this thesis mainly investigated Jie Zhang’s novel No Letters in the 1990 s.First,this work organized and analyzed the deep depression characteristic in the context.(It’s mainly reflected in three aspects: Strong self-condemnation,Interpersonal exhaustion,Madness and self-destruction).By utilizing phochological theory,this thesis discussed the three main causes: loss of objectives,conflicts of love and hatred,degeneration of libido in ego.The performance of the context,the reader’s experiences(The analysis focuses on three types: Vent without restraint,Rejecting the closed state of the conversation,Readers are given the perspective of god and the role of priest.)also had been discussed.Second,the thesis discussed the "absent father" in the text,the "Oedipus complex" pointed by the "earth mother archetype"(The loess plateau),the "patricide complex" and the author’s "autonomy complex" and the " fatalistic cycle " of the text structure pointing to the "life instinct" and "death instinct".Finally,cultural psychology were used to reflex her return of spirits after Jie Zhang’s exposed mask of character in No Letters,and her "psychological looking-back" during her change in late stage.From fresh perspectives,the thesis investigated the value and flaws of No Letters in a comprehensive way to demonstrate the great of the book.
