On Translation Of Exclamation In The Perspective Of Hermeneutics

The translation project of this research is a short story written by the famous writer Shi Tiesheng.Grandma’s Star belongs to the literary text category.There are a large number of exclamations and their meanings as well as their functions are different in this translation project.They have formed prominent translation problems.The emotions expressed by the exclamations in the Chinese language system are complex and delicate,and are usually closely related to the context.Even the same exclamation will have different meanings in different contexts.The use of a large number of exclamations gives the source text a lively,lifelike atmosphere with a strong language style.At the same time,due to the complexity of the Chinese exclamation itself and the differences between English and Chinese language systems,various problems have arisen when translating exclamations into English ones.How to maximize the retention of the meaning and effect of the exclamations in the source text has become an important translation issue.And the solution to this translation problem is particularly important in the translation of novels.The research report uses the translation of exclamations as the object of study to analyze the similarities and differences between Chinese and English exclamations and to explore the strategies of translating exclamations.Based on literature research and the Hermeneutics Theory proposed by George Steiner,this research report briefly describes the connotation of Hermeneutics Theory,its difference between other translation theories and the rationality of guiding the translation of exclamations.Firstly,the report compares and analyzes Chinese and English exclamations.Secondly,it classifies the exclamations in the translation project according to their meanings and functions.Under the guidance of the Hermeneutics Theory,this research respectively explores the translation strategies of various exclamations.The report finds that there are great differences in terms of morphology,semantics,and use of English and Chinese exclamations.Hermeneutics Theory has positive guiding significance for the English translation practice of exclamations.According to the core concept and four translation processes of Hermeneutics Theory,the translation strategies of meaning conversion,addition and compensation are provided in this report.The report aims to provide a Hermeneutic perspective for the translation of exclamations and summarizes three more operative translation strategies.Of course,the summarization of translation strategy is not comprehensive and perfect,but the guiding significance of Hermeneutics on exclamations is positive,and it can solve most of the problems that arise in translation.
