The writing of ‘marginal person’ is a significant theme that is through the novel’s creation of Xu Zechen.Xu zechen constructs a world of marginal characters,regarding the series of novel ‘jingpiao’ and "huajie" as the main body,which causes the current society to pay attention to and think about the living state and spiritual connotation of the special marginal characters.The currently living situation and the spiritual predicament of the ‘marginal person’ is deeply analyzed and the eternal human nature and moral conflict that on ‘marginal person’ has experienced in the process of urban and rural modernization is deeply explored.All these show the profound anxiety and humanistic care of the author in terms of the society,life and destiny,which becomes the deep part of the marginal talking of the novels of Xu Zechen.The main part of this paper is divided into four parts.The part of introduction mainly introduces the basic situation of the author,the research significance and the currently research status.It also describes the core concept ‘marginal person’ of the paper.Although Xu Zechen is a young writer who born after the 1970 s,as an important group in the intergenerational inheritance,they constitute a significant part of Chinese narrative integrity because of their persistence in writing and silent cultivation on the edge that is covered.Therefore,from this perspective,this paper will focus on the most prominent aesthetic orientation in the novels of Xu Zeschen.--It shows the various life experiences of marginal individuals when the people face the complicated real order and make an deeply discussion in the daily narration of the marginalization of non-mainstream.The first chapter is mainly to combine and sort out the marginal characters of the novels written by Xu Zechen.And the marginal characters are divided into three categories: the first category the ‘jingpiao’ who struggles in the ideal and the reality.They are mainly represented by the red flag,Wei Qianwan and Chen Ziwuwei.It shows their free state of "be in but does not belong to" and the unique inner personalities and spirit pursuit of each through the deeply interpretation of these marginal characters.The second category is the lost and rootless intellectuals,mainly taking President He,Lin Huicong and Wang Yiding as examples,showing the marginal states of the intellectuals from different perspectives.The third category is the unfortunate and self-indulgent female,taking Su xiu,Jiu Cai and Wang Qiyao as examples,showing the oppression and mutilation of marginal women in the world which regards male as the core through these three characters.The second chapter makes a whole analysis of the living states of the ‘marginal person’ with the help of the theory of spatial narrative and discusses the metaphor of marginal person’s living space,social space and identity space respectively to reveal the real appearances of ‘marginal person’ in daily life from an all-round and multi-angle perspective.The third chapter reveals the spiritual connotation of the marginal characters under the appearance of the daily life.The anxiety of seeking for the identity and the loneliness of losing spirit run through the whole life of the ‘marginal person’.In the process of binary opposition,the human light and virtue which are shown from the ‘marginal person’ finally disappear in the tragic ending.This paper affirms the efforts of ‘marginal person’,while points out the fact that the ‘marginal person transfers the self-efforts to nothing because of lack of the spirit of idealism and the loss of individual subjectivity.It critically reflects on the marginal characters written by Xu Zechen and summarizes the shortcomings of the difficulties of their writing.
