Incentive Theory is one of the most basic theories in management and an important field in modern management research.An abstract is an important part of an article,a window of information screening,and a summary of the whole paper.The accurate translation of the abstracts of articles related to Incentive Theory can provide references for domestic managers to better participate in international management researches and practices,thus promoting international academic exchanges and improving the theoretical system of domestic Incentive Theory.However,what rules can be found in the translation of s and management text?How to measure the accuracy and fitness of language expression?These will be directly related to the quality of translation.So far,there has been no systematic research on this kind of translation by domestic scholars.Hence,the translation practice and research on abstracts of articles related to Incentive Theory are very necessary and promising.The translation material of this report is 78 English abstracts selected from several English publications of management,such as Organization Science,and Entrepreneurship Theory.All abstracts have the same theme-Incentive Theory.The total number of words in the translation task is 12,000.The report focuses on the translation strategies adopted in the process of E-C translation of abstracts and management materials.To ensure the translation task can be carried out smoothly,the translator systematically learned basic knowledge of Incentive Theory at the first step,and then analyzed and interpreted the text features and translation principles.Under the guidance of Semantic Translation and Communicative Translation,the translator translated the selected text,revised the translation repeatedly,reviewed and summarized the translation process.Finally,this report concludes that the abstracts of articles related to Incentive Theory belong to informative text and vocative text,conveying various effective information and arousing readers’ response,which corresponds to Semantic Translation and Communicative Translation.Therefore,when translating English abstracts and Management texts.translators can take Newmark’s Semantic Translation and Communicative Translation as the theoretical basis and rationally use relevant translation techniques and methods to make the target language more accurate,acceptable and normative.
