With the rapid development of science and technology, autonomous vehicles are gradually appearing in people’s field of vision.Due to the current uneven development level of autonomous driving technology, there is still a long way to go before the full realization of driverless driving.Although autonomous vehicles can replace human beings to complete driving tasks to a certain extent,it is necessary to apply automatic driving technology reasonably.First of all,the driver needs to be able to better interact with the automatic system during the operation. This not only has certain requirements for the operator’s cognitive ability, but also points out the importance of trust in automation for the realization of autonomous driving technology.Lack of trust in automation will make users give up or are unwilling to use the automatic driving system, which is the primary problem in the popularization and promotion of autonomous driving technology. However, the bigger problem is that if you trust the autopilot system too much,it may lead to the user completely relying on the system, lack of alertness to faults and dangers. When the autopilot system fails,it is impossible to switch to human intervention in time, and cause traffic accidents. Therefore,in order to further promote the development of trust in automation in the future research on the threshold of human-computer trust threshold,we first need to have a deep understanding of trust in automation and its impact mechanism. In the past application fields(aviation and power plants, etc.),the research object of trust in automation is usually specially educated, trained and screened. In the context of autonomous driving, the target of human-computer trust is for the general population. Most of the existing researches focus on engineering research such as theoretical research and interface design. There are few empirical studies on the influencing factors at the psychological level. Most of the existing researches only use subjective reports to measure the dispositional trust in the multi-dimensional of trust in automation,or only explore situational trust in a particular situation. This study uses laboratory simulation driving tasks to set automatic, intelligent assisted and manual driving conditions, combined with subjective scales, behavioral response indicators and eye movement indicators to two dimensions of human-computer trust:dispositional trust and situational trust. At the same time, this study explores the relationship between interpersonal trust and dispositional trust, and the role of personality traits between them. Finally, try to establish the influencing factors model of situational trust under different levels of automation to further explore the impact of factors such as automation levels and interpersonal trust on situational trust. The conclusions of this study are as follows:1.There is a significant difference on situational trust under different levels of automation.Since the subject is required to perform the monitoring task under the conditions of intelligent assisted driving, the situational trust under this condition is corrected to a certain extent, and therefore is less than the situational trust that is not corrected under the fully automatic driving condition.2.Interpersonal trust and dispositional trust has a significant inverse correlation.Because the subjects lacked the real autonomous driving experience, the self-reported generalized trust in automation was actually based on their own personality trends and their understanding of autonomous vehicles.Personality traits play a regulatory role in interpersonal trust versus dispositional trust. In groups that are more extroverted, emotionally stable, and able to interact with others and have a certain compassion, interpersonal trust has a greater impact on trust in dispositional trust.3.Different dimensions of trust in automation:There is a large deviation between the stable dispositional trust measured by subjective report and the dynamic situational trust measured by objective measurement, especially compared to the situational trust that is corrected under intelligent assisted driving conditions. This shows that due to the lack of actual experience of self-driving cars, the generalized trust in automation of self-reporting has large deviations in the actual application process.4.This study establishes the influencing factors model of situational trust under different levels of automation. The results show that interpersonal trust has a certain predictive effect on situational trust under different levels of automation, and the discriminative index and intelligent assistance under fully automated driving conditions. The monitoring behavior under driving conditions also predicts the situational trust under their respective conditions.
