| Learning motivation is an important factor that affects students’ language learning.The correct establishment of English learning motivation can not only help students improve their interest in learning English,but also enhance their enthusiasm for learning English.At present,most scholars only pay attention to the positive aspects of learning motivation,few people pay attention to the lack of learning motivation.However,in the actual teaching process,many junior high school students have the problem of insufficient motivation in English learning,which affects the effect of students’ English learning.Finding out the existing problems of students’ English learning motivation can help educators to understand the current situation of junior high school students’ English learning more accurately and concretely,so as to help students improve their English learning motivation,which will play a great role in promoting the improvement of junior high school students’ English learning performance and learning effect.In this study,qualitative and quantitative methods are used to study the current situation of students’ learning motivation.Taking some students and English teachers from Grade 7 to grade 9 of X Middle School in Shangshui County,Henan Province as the research objects,this paper investigates the current situation of students’ learning motivation from the aspects of classroom enthusiasm,autonomous learning after class and homework completion.Through descriptive analysis,it is found that the current level of students’ English learning motivation is not high;through difference analysis,it is found that there are significant differences between students’ gender and grade,boys’ learning motivation is lower than girls’ and lower grades’ learning motivation is higher than higher grades;through correlation and regression analysis,it is found that the current situation of students’ English learning motivation is significantly related to the influencing factors And the influence factors have a good predictive effect on the current situation of students’ learning motivation.The results of this study show that there are some deficiencies in students’ English learning motivation in X Middle School of Shangshui County,such as lack ofenthusiasm in class,poor ability of autonomous learning after class and poor completion of homework.According to the survey results,the author from the students,teachers,curriculum and learning environment several aspects of the status of students’ Learning Motivation Attribution.Finally,based on the analysis of the lack of learning motivation and its causes,and based on the three-level motivation theory and self-determination theory,the paper puts forward the relevant strategies to improve junior high school students’ English learning motivation.The author hopes that these strategies can stimulate junior high school students’ English learning motivation and help them learn English better. |
